Craftsman Ultimate Screwdriver Bit Set - 208 pcs Power Tools Box Case Original

This is a great set for cordless screwdrivers or drills. By far the most complete I've ever seen with plenty of duplicates in the most common used sizes that will wear out the most often.You should already be aware that ANY/ALL bit sets like these by ANY/ALL brands are considered consumable items that will eventually wear out and are excluded from any lifetime warranties that the brands may typically offer on their hand tools. That goes for Craftsman, GearWrench, Stanley, Armstrong, Wright, not even professional tool-truck brands like Snap-On, Matco, Mac, etc. None of them has a policy to replace a worn out/broken screwdriver bit, and these Craftsman bits are no exception.It should also go without saying, but I'll say it anyway, that this is NOT the set for you if you're needing a bit set to use in an impact driver or a high power/torque drill (ex: 120v corded or a 20v Dewalt/Milwaukee/Makita/etc cordless drill) with the clutch set to the drill or anywhere near the full torque clutch settings. Of course these bits can be put to use like that (and believe me, I have done so) but you should expect that you are going to go through bits much too frequently to be practical. That's not what any "screwdriver bit set" like this was made or marketed for. That's why companies market & sell "impact ready" bit sets that typically cost more &/or come with far fewer bits.With those common-sensical caveats out of the way this is BY FAR the best & most complete screwdriver bit set that you can buy. The quality is every bit on par with any (non "impact") bit set sold under any of the other brand names where one would expect a quality like Dewalt/Stanley/Black & Decker, Irwin, Bosch, Vermont American, etc, just to name a few. I can say that with confidence as we use these along with all the other aforementioned brands all day every day at work in an industrial manufacturing setting. Most recently I've been buying these Craftsman sets whenever I can find them in stock at or below their msrp (think, closer to one Jackson than two) because the value is unmatched by any other. Unfortunately the usual outlets known for carrying the Craftsman name have a hard time keeping them in stock for very long.

Very nice set. But missing one key element. A screw driver that accepts these bits and locks the collar.I'm still looking for one.I found a Milwaukee 10-in-1 Square Drive Ratcheting Multi Bit Driver. It's OK but it only locks with a magnet thus the whole collar concept is discarded.The whole point of these bits with the collar is to use a driver that can lock on the collar so your bit will not pull out when it gets stuck in the soft metal of a bolt or screw head. My Panasonic electric screw driver has this. But I can't find a hand screw driver that does.The Milwaukee I mentioned above holds the bit with a magnet. Most of the time that is OK until you run into a screw with a soft zinc coated head that grabs the bit.(especially small phillips) Then after you have tightened it down you withdraw the screwdriver and the bit comes out and remains stuck in the screw. Struggle to pull the bit out of the screw and reinsert the bit and you can move along to the next screw. In my case the next 25 screws. And perhaps 50 units per day with the same 25 gooey head screws. Still looking for the perfect hand driver to go along with these bits.

This is probably overkill for my needs, but I got tired of having to hunt down specialty screwdrivers for odd fasteners I sometimes encounter when doing repairs. The bits snap into the case and are held pretty well, but will come loose if you bang the case around a lot. It also has a plastic insert that helps keep things in place. Bits themselves do not appear to be the highest quality, but given the price and light use I have planned for them this is perfect.

Got all the stuff you need, some I didn't KNOW i needed, like the security Torx, while taking apart my Keurig. (wasn't able to fix it, but I HAD to find out). All socket drivers, hex, Torx. Must Have with driver/drill combos. Used it the first day and more often than I would have imagined. Not a real bad price. We know it's not industrial grade, but for homeowners occasional usage, the variety more than pays the price.

Sizes not highlited. I used a magic marker to highlite the sizes Would have liked a better case. One that is hinged and hinged locking tabs. Also empty places for 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 socket drivers and other items not listed. All and all it is a really nice set.

This bit set was looking like the best one I was able to find so far until I noticed one of the most used and needed set of bits was missing. For some reason they saw fit to give you all the standard size allen bits and even some duplicates of even size bits but didn't think you would be needing any metric sizes. Because nothing made in china these days. Almost everything I touch is using metric now. Even my american car. It boggles my mind why they didn't include any metric allen bits. Again, standard sizes are complete with duplicates but no metric. The only metric are the special keyed ones and they are much weaker than the solid so they tend to strip out. They have a complete set of metric socket bits to go along with the standard. They could have tossed in a 4, 5, and 6 size allen on the top side as long bits to help but even those are standard bits. I just don't get it...:( I reluctantly gave 4 stars because the rest of the kit is good but anyone who uses a lot of tools and bits will know this lack of metric Allen bits is an egregious offense and leaves me searching for a new ultimate bit set again.

I have been eyeballing this for a while and finally bought it. It feels so nice to finally have a proper bit set and not have to wonder if I will have the right bit for what I'm doing. Love these. And it's perfect for my tool chest. Just open it up, lay it flat in the drawer, the narrow case profile allows me to keep it open in the drawer for easy access while staying perfectly organized.
