Monoprice HDMI Port Saver Male to Female - 90 Degree (103733)

Well it came NOT-exactly as shown(dimensions are a little bit different) but will do what some people are looking for it to do. But that being said, I should have paid attention to the layout of the male connector and its orientation on my tv. The tv's HDMI out is flipped (270deg) compared to the male end of this connector, which makes this connector useless to me (causes the female connector to face into the back of the tv). On an audio receiver this would work out pretty well, allowing the 90 degree to point down.So as an update- I have to say that yes, research is best here. I was looking for a 270degree connector. But I see that others have made the same mistake. The product is fine the way it was designed for the purpose it was designed for. Also, it is slightly larger than the picture. It has more molding around the female end so that the connector is not exposed.Dimensions: From front of male connector to back of housing = 1.25", from bottom of 90deg to top of female connector = .75", overall width .8125". Hope this helps someone not purchase the wrong one.

I bought this for our new video camera at church. We send the output through HDMI to our switcher. The HDMI connector on the camera is near the zoom control, is pointed right out the right side of the camera, and the HDMI cable coming out of it took a lot of stress from your hand kind of laying on it while operating the zoom. I plugged one of these right angle connectors into the camera so the HDMI cable is no longer sticking out as a place to rest your hand. I think it will prolong the life of that connector quite a bit. A nice adapter that does what it was designed to do. Would buy again in a second, if needed.

I purchased two of these so that the HDMI cables would not stick directly out of the backs of my TVs. By using the right angle adapter, I'm able to keep the cord closer to the TV surface and reduce the chance that it'll get broken off.Make sure you buy the correct one for your application. Since you can only insert it one way, the female end will always point in a particular direction. You may need the other one that is, essentially, "flipped"...like this one:  HDMI Port Saver (Male to Female) - 270 Degree The connector is hefty and tight, and I see no change in picture quality. I'd have no problem buying this again.Note: As of July 2012, the current picture on this item is accurate. It is a small, very compact adapter. Pictures have been innaccurate on some other adapters: Customers receive an adapter that is much larger (or not the advertised rotation degree setting) versus the one pictured.

I rarely write reviews although I look at them often. Figure I should write more whether positive or negative just to help others. I guess this review is as much about the supplier as it is the product. I purchased this from MillionAccessories (China) via Amazon. As typical the item was originally shipped from China and took a little while (week or two) to get here but not as long as most people would think it should. The items was shipped incorrectly, sending 3 micro sd card readers instead of the right angle HDMI adapters that I bought. A simple email notifying them, followed by a picture of the wrong part to verify the incorrect part and within 2 days I had replacements in my hand. The product appears to be good quality and works. (BTW, not like you could buy one that wasn't made in China LOL so the shipping from China at substantial savings didn't bother me.)

I'm a little confused about these negative reviews, as I could not be happier with this product. I purchased it for use with my  ViewSonic PJD5133 SVGA DLP Projector - HDMI, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR, 120Hz/3D Ready, Speaker , which I was trying to get flush against a wall, and this adapter allowed me to get the projector much closer to the wall, as the HDMI cable was no longer sticking out and bending into it. Some people have said that it doesn't really seem shorter than the actual cable, but for me, it barely sticks out at all, almost like having nothing plugged into the port at all. In addition, I no longer have to worry about my cables getting bent out of shape and can have my projector closer to the wall, which means a longer distance between the projector and the projection screen, which means a bigger picture, a huge payoff for the small price of this product.

I can honestly say there is nothing wrong with these items, and they perform as expected... but I would caution consumers to research the design of any adapters they buy... I knew what I needed, and these were among the cheapest listed, so I quickly bought them without thinking. I can now tell you there's a big difference between a 90-degree adapter and a 270-degree adapter... unfortunately, a 90-degree adapter will not work with my Sharp Aquos, but a 270-degree adapter will, but I can use these in other devices, so I'm not worried about returns. It's a good product, just make sure it's a product you can use.

I got this for my DVD player so the cable would hang straight up and down instead of sticking out a mile in back which made it bend and the cord broke and frayed. I had to replace the cable cord so I put it into this port saver and it is perfect. The player works great and the picture quality did not change. I will be getting more of these. I haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but, so far, so good. It is a nice secure fit in the port and fit the HDMI cable just fine.

Update: adapter is now broken not even 2 years later. Input does not pass through anymore so this is not worth it.Original:This product is great because it allows your TV to sit flush against the wall (if you have don't have downward facing ports). I'm sure this is beneficial for the health of the port/cable as well because you won't be causing it to bend/pinch in the wrong direction. I didn't notice any drop off in quality on the TV making this the perfect solution for me.Very happy with this product and would buy another in a heart beat if I ever needed one! 10/10

Was shorted one of these in my shipment but kudos to Amazon for a no-hassle replacement. These took about 3/4 to 1 inch off of the back clearance of my receiver (depends on size of male HDMI terminal on the cable), allowing it to fit inside a cabinet in which it would not fit before. They are a very affordable alternative to pre-manufactured HDMI cables with 90-degree ends on them. I have not noticed any loss in sound or video quality at 1080p 2D or 3D.

I put my TV on a telescoping TV mount, so I needed to change the orientation of my Roku Stick. It offers a snug fit for the cable, and definitely does its job.

Nice adapter. Needed it to connect an HDMI cable to my tv's HDMI port which was blocked by my wall mount. Works perfect.
