New Balance KJ554 Running Shoe (Infant/Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid)

When you have little kids, it's really useful to buy things that can be WASHED without them getting ruined. These shoes hold up well. I normally wash all my kids sneakers after 2-3 uses in a front loader with towels/blankets and these shoes haven't shrunk or fallen apart. What's nice is with more mesh material in their construction means shoes get dried overnight (I can wash in the evening, pull out the shoe's tongue and dry on the counter. By morning, they're completely dried). By the time you've washed the heck outta the shoes, they've outgrown them! Don't waste so much $ buying shoes you can clean/wash. Buy reasonably priced, comfortable shoes w/good construction and just wash them (for those who don't wash their kids' shoes)!

I typically turn to Amazon for most shoe purchases as I can almost always find good prices on name brand shoes for my children. New Balance is particular favorite of mine for them as they just seem to have the best durability because they usually look close to new even after several months of play and abuse. My kids have never complained about discomfort as they have with Saucony, Nike, and other store brands (I gave up on the store brands after the "toddler" stage because the soles would literally fall apart within weeks). My son flipped when we were looking on here for a new pair of shoes because they have yellow on them, and I did because the price was amazing! I think he's been wearing them for a few months now and aside from a little dirt on the bottom, they look as good as they did coming out of the box. Totally recommend!

This was the first pair of New Balance sneakers I've bought for my tween daughter and she loves them. I love the price considering she'll probably outgrow them in 3-4 months. She said they were instantly comfortable. She especially likes that they are slightly wide in the toe area -- she said it gives her toes lots of wiggle room without her foot sliding around. She likes that they are light weight -- she says they are comfortable to run in. They are not, however, made for wearing outside in colder weather but they're perfect for leaving in her school gym locker during the week so she can change out of her heavy winter boots when she gets to school. I will definitely buy the next size up when she outgrows the current pair.

My son is very hard on his shoes, and is still learning to get them on the right feet! I love these shoes for him because they are easy for him to put on, wash up well and endure. Unlike other shoes that are cute but not comfortable, they wont break the bank! He's on his fifth pair and I intend to buy more. The Kids NB shoes come in a variety of styles and colors and he loves the variety. I let him pick the colors he likes, and I win!! I'm over buying the high priced shoes...until he gets to high school and my opinion doesn't supercede his buddies.

My seven year old was slightly disappointed upon receiving these shoes because they weren't Air Jordan's, but he didn't complain, which is a big plus in my book. He says they are comfortable. They are also easy to get on and off, and his laces stay tied, which is also a plus. So far, they have stayed much newer looking than I expected, and they seem quite durable. My one complaint is that the colors are a bit more feminine looking than I initially expected. Not crazy girly, but they are really similar to a pair of women's shoes I purchased for myself... Happy shoe shopping-- these didn't disappoint us, and they likely won't disappoint you either!

My first grader has PE for the first time this year, and needed some athletic shoes. She also has joined a lunchtime running club, so we knew we needed to get her some real shoes to meet her needs. I showed her lots of options and she definitely liked the colors and design of this pair the best. The fit was true to size and she learned how to tie her shoes pretty quickly on them, so she can retie them when needed. Just know that these require actual lacing skills - the picture of the item makes it seem like they may be pre-tied and elasticized for a slip-on fit. She wore them all day at her school's walk-a-thon last weekend and got a gold medal. Highly recommend these shoes and feel they were worth the price.

I bought these for my son's birthday at the end of April. These strings started to give around the toe area about a month in. There is now a hole in the toe area and they are barely two months old. I just had to go out and buy a new pair. I have never had a problem with New Balance shoes. They have been my shoe of choice based on their durability. I think I got poor quality this time around.

my daughter has medium to wide feet (mostly at the toe end) and I'm used to buying her a slightly larger size just to give her some extra space at the toes. She measures at 11.5 and I bought her 12 in these NB and they were definitely too big (seemed like 1 size larger than I'm used to; not just a half-size larger) - slipping off the back of her foot. I really like these shoes and highly recommend but they seem to run just a tad on the large (length) side but great on the width.
