Cute movie
The animation is adorable. For the reviewers that said “it encourages disobedience” there are plenty of movies that have examples you don’t want you kids emulating (if you want to reduce it to its worst point). Pinocchio, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Wreck it Ralph. It’s just one aspect of the movie; there are redeeming points as well. That’s how stories are told; they’d be really boring if there was no conflict. The soundtrack is enjoyable. The movie has a friendship between 3 friends that learn to get along and overcome a bully.

Great for audiences of all ages!
I didn’t really hear anything about this movie before it came out, so I was pleasantly surprised the first time I watched it. It’s a delightful story with really great characters, humor, and (mercifully) no political or social engineering type of agenda. Just a fun show that my grandkids love! I bought this copy for my goddaughter for her birthday. I highly recommend it!

Luca Video Would Not Play
This video would not play as it is formatted for the UK and possibly the rest of Europe. THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED IN THE AD ON AMAZON!! If you see a triangle with a a letter U inside in the lower left hand corner of the video case, this is the UK copy. It stands for Universal in the UK which is comparable to G in the US, meaning general audience. There should be information about formatting on ALL videos. I bought this for my grandchildren and it was a disappointment. I call this UNFAIR advertising!! (I was required to choose a star in order to submit review.)

“Silenzio Bruno”: Review of Luca, by Disney
The movie, “Luca” directed by Enrico Casarosa,Is an innocent and fun movie. It takes you on a journey that teaches you to be yourself and be independent. The movie starts in the beautiful crystal clear waters of Genovia Italy where we meet the two of the main characters Luca and Alberto. They are sea monsters, Luca meets Alberto and is very curious about where he is going. He follows him and realizes that Alberto went to the surface. Luca ends up spending a lot of time with him, and they become really good friends. After Lucas' parents find out he went above the water they want to send him away because they thought it was too dangerous, Luca runs away with Alberto to live on the island. They meet the other main character, Giulia. They all three become great friends, but they soon realize how different they are and run into problems. This film does a really good job of showing how important family and friends are and in order to become the person you are meant to be you need those relationships. The movie also does an excellent job of showing young viewers how important good friends are in order to achieve your dreams. In “Luca”, the three main characters have such different personas which causes tension. Although, despite being so different, they really help each other grow. In the beginning Luca is a very easily influenced person, shy, but very curious. He meets Alberto, who is very independent, and wants everything to go his way. Then there is Giulia, she is outgoing, and not afraid of what other people think. Once Luca and Alberto become good friends they go to the town and meet Giulia. Giulia was the first human in the town to stand up for them to a bully. This is where the three become friends. One particular scene in the movie that really helps the viewer grasp how they make each other stronger is when Luca is scared to ride down a steep hill, Alberto yells a saying for Luca to repeat, “silencio Bruno” he repeats it and becomes brave enough to do it. After they ride down the hill Lucas's entire mindset about doing new things expands. I think this movie really shows young viewers to be brave and to not take life for granted. They learn a lot about themselves and each other. Thus making eachother stronger in the end.Throughout the movie, The family bonds and friendships are so prominent. For example, Luca has both his parents and grandparents there for him despite what happens in the movie. Alberto however, only has Luca and Giulia. As the movie goes on, Alberto and Giulias dad form a bond that resembles a father son relationship. For example Alberto went fishing with Giulias dad, Mossimo, he realizes Alberto is amazing at it. Another example is Alberto and Massimo making and eating pasta. Even though these are very small details, they spend a lot of time together and Alberto looks at him as a father. I think this really hits close to home for some viewers no matter the age and I felt it was important to add because it is something that a lot of children and adults go through and I could relate to it so that also made me inclined to add. I was also pleased by how this can relate to any viewer's age, because it is not only important for young children but also for adults or teenagers who might be moving to a new place or just want new friends. Giulia, Luca and Alberto all had this special bond. After the first bullying scene, Giulia considered them her team for the possoco cup where they'd train together for weeks in order to win the competition. Because they spent so much time together they grew very close. Giulia taught Luca a lot of things and really inspired Luca. Looking at this from a children's point of view I really think it was an excellent detail that teaches these young and impressionable viewers how friends shape what your life could potentially become and that everyone learns things differently. Alberto becomes very jealous of Giulia because Alberto did not want to lose Luca. This led to the big fight in the water that I had mentioned before. I think this scene was really important because it teaches young kids that jealousy is something we can't let get to us because it can cause behavior that you regret. However in this case it led to Luca betraying him. Luca realized his friendship is more important than his reputation so he admitted to Giulia. They made up and ended up winning the contest. I think young kids who watch this will realize everyone is different and that is okay, or in other words you should never judge a book by its cover. Which ties with the idea that family relationships and friendships are so important. From the moment Luca, Alberto, and Giulia became friends, they wanted each other to be the best they could be. For example, Luca and Giulia were sitting in the tree in her back yard and they were looking at the “fish”. Giulia corrected Luca and said those were not fish, they are called stars and explained what they were. Luca realized there is so much out there that he doesn't know. Giulia introduced the word “school” to Luca and it inspired Luca to want to go and learn about the world. Giulia also gave Luca a book, he fell in love and had a strong desire to go to school. This scene in the movie does an excellent job of teaching the directed audience how important school is and that real friends will push you to be the very best version of yourself. Luca however taught Alberto that you don't always have to be right. For example, when Luca corrects Alberto about the stars. Alberto becomes slightly annoyed but brushes it off because he was wrong. Alberto taught Luca the most important thing of all. To be brave. One of my favorite examples of this is during the race when it is raining and Albertos cover was breached. Ercole (the main bully) threw a net over Alberto. Luca saw Alberto trapped in the net. Luca saved Alberto and threw him on his bike exposing himself too in the rain. Not only does this movie do a phenomenal job of showing young viewers how important it is to be brave but it's an example of not leaving a friend behind. This also ties in with how important your friendships are as I’ve mentioned before. To conclude, Luca, Alberto, and Giulia had a great friendship. There were hard times throughout but they all taught each other something. All three bring out the best in each other whether it's looking at the stars, learning about school, being yourself or being brave. It's a beautiful story about friendships, relationships, and learning about one another.Works cited . Directed by Enrico Casarosa, Disney Pixar, 2021

Add the "Toy Story" and "Monsters, Inc." series, and you have the best of Pixar
If you're looking for a way to obtain your favorite Disney/Pixar films on Blu-ray, this box set may make sense for you. These five films ("A Bug's Life," "The Incredibles," "Ratatouille," "Up," and "Wall-E") are all masterpieces of animation and delightful works of cinema for the entire family. They come with matching DVDs, which I don't need, but some folks may find the extra discs useful, and virtually all Disney/Pixar releases come as Blu-ray/DVD combo packs in any case. As of this writing, the cost of the 10-disc box is slightly less than that of the five movies purchased individually. These aren't the newest three- and four-disc deluxe sets for "Wall-E," "Up," and "The Incredibles," which contain additional bonus material and digital copies, but they will do for all but the hard-core collector.
