Bad power supply and switch snoops on your network
Don’t buy this switch unless you want it to snoop on your network. This switch messed up my Linksys router firmware. I had to reload the firmware again to get my network back secure again. I also removed this switch from my network and reinstalled a old Cisco switch and all is good again. I have another 16 port Cisco smart switch that this switch tried to reconfigure. Looking at where the switch was made is says China. Now it’s all clear to me. DONT BUY ANYTHING THATS MADE IN CHINA FOR YOUR NETWORK unless you want the Chinese snooping on your network and most likely are stealing your private information. And after bringing this to the company attention where I bought it from, “ Target Deals” out on Canada”, they immediately took all their items off of Amazon. Don’t buy from this company. They are a Chinese company out of Canada. I ended up eating this switch because the company wouldn’t return it and give me a refund. This is not a Cisco switch like they use to be. From now on I’m buying from local companies where the network equipment is designed and made in the United States. I would have given it a no star for the switch quality and the company that sold it to me off of Amazon. Don’t buy this switch.

Least expensive Radius switch I could find
As a developer for Radius solutions, this is the least expensive and simplest switch to use. The web interface is a mite tricky, but with the web interface and the CLI you can set this device up to track your 802.1x development down to the wire level using port spanning and WireShark.

Good product but not for advanced users
Not a bad product. It will work well for basic users but not for advanced users. I bought it and tried to set it up. I ran into issue as it does not support DHCP server and only supports DHCP relay. I returned it and ordered CBS350. Let’s see if 350 works.

Received Euro power adapter
Like several others, I ordered this switch from Amazon with "Cisco" listed as the seller. I received a European power adapter. The adapter is a universal adapter, somewhat like the ones included with Intel NUCs, although they are not the same and do not fit on this one. I am not sure where to obtain different adapter plugs. In any case, it's a 12V 1A wall wart so any one that matches that specification will work, and that is a pretty common consumer electronic power spec. This wasn't a problem for me because my intention was to power the switch via PoE on port 1, which is working fine. I didn't try to contact the seller about this issue, perhaps doing that could lead to problem resolution? With regards to the switch, it does have quite an advanced feature set for a $110 device. L3 support is nice, though I wouldn't want to run more than a few hundred clients through this. So far, I've configured 802.1Q VLANs, LLDP/MED, Multicast IGMP/MLD, and RSTP, all of which perform well. The device can be an IGMP querier, though again CPU usage should be kept in mind. There is a CLI which is IOS-like, as well as a decent SNMP implementation, though I found that manually flapping a port via SNMPSET didn't appear to work, or at least not in the same way as the Catalysts do. I like that the web interface can be disabled from the CLI; those interfaces with their input boxes are often vectors for injection or overflow attacks.Overall I've been liking the device, certainly a step up from "smart" switches but in a similar 8-port desktop form factor. Weirdness with the plug makes me drop the rating 1 star.

Value & reliability
I have owned several other Cisco SMB line of switches and this replaces the SG2X0. I own 3 other CBS250 switches and all are working great. Bought this unit for my network test lab to learn and test thing out. Just the right size and ports for that purpose. Excellent product.
