This review is a combined review for the PupFlask itself and for the Holder Sling.I spend a lot of time at the local off leash dog park with my mini sheep-a-doodle, Scout, and the PupFlask is the best of several water bottles I've tried out for having fresh, cool water for her. I have the 40 oz flask which provides sufficient water for a 2-3 hour romp with enough left over to share with other parched pooches. The aluminum body of the flask keeps the water cool and is resistant to damage even when it get knocks around. The silicon 'leaf' that forms the bowl is pretty easy to flip up and down though, to be honest, I mostly just leave it open. What's best is the valve that returns any undrunk water from the leaf to the flask so it isn't wasted.The one downside to the PupFlask is that it's heavy, and even with the silicon carry strap, it's cumbersome to tote around. So adding the Holder is the perfect pairing. The carry strap on the holder can be made quite long so it easily fits in a cross body way that means it doesn't slip off your shoulder or bounce uncomfortably against you while still allowing the easiest of access.Honestly, I should get commissions from the PupFlask people as at least five other dog owners at the dog park have ordered this product on the spot after seeing mine!

It’s definitely well made but I give it a 2 stars because-Unfortunately, this thing isn’t insulating enough for the summer heat of Nor Cal Valley, all the ice melted after an hour or so into our morning hike!If the pup flask is left in the bag for more than a day, the part where you pour the water out will get gross as it can’t dry out the moisture in the bag.Also the strap has a lip on the inside that keeps rubbing on me, doesn’t matter which way I put it on I can feel it rubbing on me and that’s super annoying.I wish the pup flask would just be insulated then I won’t have any of these problems!

We LOVE these bottles and the sling carriers are SO COMFORTABLE!!We live in the desert, so it is CRITICAL that we have safe and easy access to water for both humans and dogs at all times of the year during our walks.The water bottle carrier/sling is strong but soft and relatively elastic. No more rubbing on your neck or shoulders and the weight of all that water feels pretty comfortable. Much more so than any of the others I or my Mom have tried. I actually bought an extra of these carrier slings I love them so much!Some of the features we love about the entire system (water bottles and carriers/slings):1.) The big silicon water receptible for the dogs to drink from. We have multiple dogs slurping from it at the same time! The silicon is soft which prevents against cracking or fracturing ... something that happens a lot with normal plastics in the desert!2.) Button at top of bottle to release water into water receptacle.3.) Button at side of bottle top to stop the release of water.4.) Separate opening for humans to drink from using button at top.5.) Water that is allowed to flow into silicon water receptacle is prevented from going back into the bottle so the water is safe/still good for people to consume from the separate opening.6.) Holds plenty of water!

I was looking for something to take on a road trip with our 15-pound dog. I really like the style of this. The metal casing kept the water cold longer. The silicone "leaf" was great for letting my dog drink from the bottle. A couple of small design issues that made it a 4-star purchase.The "leaf"-shaped bowl needs to be completely reversed to get the water into it, and I kept thinking it was going to rip or get a hole in it. You can definitely see a mark in the silicone where we were constantly folding it back and forth. The other thing that was really annoying is that you can't get all the leftover water back into the bottle, so you have to pour out the couple of teaspoons that won't drain back AND you have to dry the bowl. It was annoying...and we got dripped on more than once.
