They’re beads
I don’t find them any stronger or weaker than any other bead roll I have used. It’s decently sturdy can’t really pull on it a whole bunch but it does what I needed it to do and that was hang a dog tag

Metal fasteners too thin, bent up
The fasteners were bent or crushed or not closed enough to do what they weren’t meant to do. They bend and pull apart too easily to trust wearing and not losing.
