Fast and reliable home printing
We got tired of spending hundreds of dollars on inkjet ink. Since black and white printing handles most of our needs, we decided to buy this highly rated monochrome laser printer. Its prints fast and reliably. And it prints on two sides which saves paper. It also was relatively easy to connect to our Wi-Fi and allows us to print from any device anywhere in our home.

Easy to Use
So far, this has been one of the least problematic printers we've had in a while. We use it for our business, and it is nice that it is front printing and front loaded. I'm looking forward to the fact that it is inkless, and should not need toner replacement very often. I had looked up Consumer Reports advice for printers, and this was one of the few that was mentioned as good

Brother printers are one of the best!
We had to buy a new printer when we got new PC's. Our older Brother HL-2040 will not operate under the Win 10/11 operating system, and Brother has no new drivers for interfacing. Our older Brother HL-2040 is still in use with my husband's Win 7 PC, but will be able to wirelessly connect to it once his PC is replced. This new printer will print on both sides automatically ... that's a wonderful feature and it saves on paper, too. What we really like about Brother printers is the ability to load about 250 sheets of paper in the feed tray.Brother products have, for us, been a solid purchase. A word of advice: whenever you need to get new toner cartridges or replace the drum, ALWAYS get the official Brother products. Sure, you might pay a bit more, but the knock offs simply do not last as long as the brand name product. The availability of toner cartridges and drums super, even for our older HL-2040!The new printer is super quiet, too!!

This is a good printer but it has some setup quirks
I was impressed with the fact that it arrived ahead of the scheduled date. This is a good printer but there are some things to consider. The product description said it was shipped with an HDMI cable. There was none in the package and furthermore, it would have been useless as there was no HDMI connector on the printer. I connected it to a laptop with the USB cable I had from another printer. I was able to print from the laptop to the printer without even having to load a driver. This, however, was not why I purchased this printer. I got it for its WiFi capability and was frustrated when, during setup, it could not connect to my LAN. The Brother printer I was replacing could. I finally got it to work by powering the wireless router and printer down, and restarting both. I was also using a repeater and had to shut that off while doing the restart. I needed the LAN capability because I have a Windows machine, and an iPad, and my wife has another iPad and I wanted to print from all the devices. Nothing that led me to this was mentioned in the Quick Startup guide and if I did not have at least a rudimentry understanding of networking, I still would be unable to print from my diverse devices.

Same Brother quality we are used to
Need a low-volume printer? Don't buy an inkjet that is just going to get clogged when inexpensive black-and-white laser printers are just as available. Same Brother quality that we've come to expect. Easy to setup and just works.P.S. Buy the "more expensive" version if you don't want to be subscribed to their toner delivery program.

defective product, charged 50% restocking fee upon return
printer arrived with broken drum. first page printed was smeared all over. couldn't believe it, same for second page. opened the printer up to see a defective drum. had already thrown away the box assuming printer would be fine. bought a second printer from a different seller, which worked fine by the way. returned the first defective printer in the second box.seller decides to charge me a 50% restocking fee, which in and of it self is already outrageous, then proceeds to tell me that the printer was damaged during use. really? printing a single page damaged the drum? maybe i would've given them the benefit of the doubt that they truly did not know the printer was defective, but to try claiming that i broke the drum printing a single page is suspicious. bad enough the product was no good, but their customer service / company policies are unethical and unscrupulous. would never buy from this seller ever again.

GRRAT PRINTER for the price
Easy to install and wireless works great even if the instructions suck.Replaced a really old hp laser that started to jam. Had I realized the advantages of a wireless printer I would have put the old one to rest sooner!
