How long is the first pole in the assembly, the one from the base to the first joint?

Looks to be about 13 inches attached to the base. I am using just the first pole and have it as a desk top instead of a floor lamp. which works out great.

How is this for lighting your face for a zoom meeting where you're stuck with bright light behind you?

A light bright enough to do what you describe would probably be blinding to you. This light would certainly do that. I have to have mine tilted so that I cannot see the light surface directly or it is too bright and hurts my eyes.

Can you use this lamp to cure gel polish

I do not think it would. It is a much cooler bulb than an incandescent.

Has anyone had luck with customer service responding? The lamp is under warranty and will not turn off all the way.

I have had no problems. I would contact Amazon. Their customer is very responsive.

Sadly bad update

This is absolutely the best floor task lamp I have ever purchased (and I've purchased a few). I do very complex counted cross stitch and this lamp is the brightest, most sturdy, biggest area coverage that I have found. It is has many easy adjustments to make the lamp perfect for all tasks. Definitely a five star. Easy to assemble. I do not submit reviews, ever, but I love this lamp.April 20, 2024Now a year later and the lamp switch no long reacts. Lamp will not turn off and various lighting options do not work. Now have to give it a bad rating. Should have read review better as it seems to be a common complaint. Too bad.

Great Lamp

This lamp provides me with plenty of light for working on projects. The adjustable base makes it pretty easy to move it into a position where it helps what I am working on.It was easy to assemble and built well. The touch control on the lamp is easy to use.

My favorite tat light

Light as hell, got a lil ass footprint. Bright enough for my almost blind ass. Easy to maneuver if you need to get a better angle for the shadow from your big stupid coil machine. The swivel mechanism is a little flimsy but it hasn’t fallen apart in almost a year so far. I don’t think it will, it just feels weird. Better than a ring light and worth every penny in my opinion.****EDIT****It finally broke. Knew it was comin. Still works, but the light section broke off of the ball mount and it’s hanging by wires. I got it taped up like Ali knuckles and it’s still danglin. Sick.Still better than a top heavy ring light.
