I use them now since a couple of months. They have become my standard reeds. The overall quality is good and consistent. You don't have to through away many of the reeds.

I've returned to Rico reeds after decades. Like many of the reviewers, I was always under the impression Rico reeds are for beginners, not consistent from one reed to another and that they don't produce good sound quality. They're what i played until middle school (decades ago) when I switched to Royal reeds. Recently, I watched a YouTube review where the reviewer explained Rico and LaVoz reeds (historically played by many professionals) are the exact same reeds. I bought some Rico reeds and found no difference. Rico reeds are excellent reeds for all level players. They are among my favorites. I read Amazon reviews saying they don't last, are of poor quality, smell, do/don't produce a bad smell, etc. After playing dozens of reed brands over the years, I can say none of that it true. These reeds are top level reeds at a price way lower than what they could be. There's no down side to these reeds.

Good value, reliable and consistent reed for the beginning student (1.5 strength). Ease of sound production and tone on these reeds really gave my student a confidence boost having found other reeds difficult to play at this early stage of their musical journey. The fit on a number of mouthpieces: Rico, Selmer and Yamaha was very good. Like any natural cane product, variations can occur ( and as the player progresses they will move to different strengths and cuts and brands) but rico reeds are a reliable brand, all 3 reeds in this pack worked well allowing the reed use to be rotated and get most life out of them. As a pack these are well priced. Reeds are a very personal fit and it is an unavoidable journey for the reed player to experiment to find the best reed ( strength, cut, brand) for their current level but these are good starting point and, if stored correctly, have a good durability. As a d’Addario product these also have points which you can collect on the d’Addario player circle rewards scheme.
