NOT A SIM RACING COCKPIT
I owned this for 4 months. I would give this 0 STARS IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO USE THIS FOR SIM RACING, especially at a $500 price point.Pictured is the broken and bent main shaft, which holds the seat in place (with a knob you hand tighten), holds the steering wheel base in place (with a knob you hand tighten) and MOST IMPORTANTLY holds the pedal plate.Major issues:* one of the screws for the pedal plate ripped right through the main shaft after 4 months of moderately low brake pressure…i am not an animal on the brakes and this happened. This renders the whole cockpit useless. I cant understand why the product was designed in this way, it is asking for overstressed metal and breakage…Unacceptable for a $500 product in my eyes.* no matter how hard you hand tighten the seat into place, it will slip away from your pedals over time. This will lead to inconsistency in your braking and lap time. This sliding occurs more and more frequently because the main shaft is being worn down. The attached picture shows how the seat slid along the main shaft.Minor issues:* requires to be tightened frequently if yoy dint want it creaking every time you move.* wheel base mount is not the most stable. I use a low FFB wheel base and wheel so the minor movement does not bother me. When upgrading to a stronger wheel I anticipate you will need a new cockpit.Pros:* it is fun to use while it works, maybe not at the price especially given other cockpits available at this price point. This product WAS NOT designed withstand sim racing level braking force. If it was, many things would look different, such as the seat connection - why hand tighten agains a flat plate? Why not have machined holes to slot into that prevent sliding? The way the brake plate attaches to the main shaft is just asking for overstressed metal… again 0 stars dont buy unless you will be braking with your clutch.
