Norse Tradesman Genuine 12" Ox-Horn Viking Drinking Horn with Fitted Horn Stand & Burlap Gift Sack - "The Original", 12-Inches, High Polish

I have purchased a couple of drinking horns from different companies to give as gifts, but finally decided to purchase one for myself. I came across the Norse Tradesman horn and wanted to give them a try. Wow, I am so glad I did as everything about it is amazing! The unpolished color, craftsmanship, and unbelievably beautiful stand makes it a total package (the bracelet is just an added perk!). Looking forward to using it at the Renaissance Fair or any other events! For now, it will sit on my shelf as a fantastic decoration and conversation piece!

The item is aesthetically designed and of high quality. One should be prepared though that this great drinking vessel is a real natural horn and may arrive in a shape or color slightly different from the pictured one or... contain naturally occurring defects. Although my experience started with a hint of disappointment (the horn I ordered recently had a couple of small holes in the bottom that leaked strongly), the customer service from the Norse Tradesman team exceeded all expectations. Just in case one has a major issue with this horn, I suggest sending photos and description of that defect directly to their customer support following instructions the Norse Tradesman team provides in a nicely crafted follow-up email. They replied promptly (keeping the same Norse style of the letter) and shipped, as they promise, a replacement that arrived quickly and with no issues. Awesome product and great customer support! This horn is made of Ox Horn, in other words, it is a part of a dead animal...just like leather has a smell to it, a horn is going to have a smell to it. You can easily look up online how to cure it and there are numerous videos showing you easy ways to do just that. The horns are already waxed but if you would like, you can buy some beeswax and coat it again, that is up to you. Besides the very faint smell, the horn is absolutely beautiful! I bought one for me and one for my mom for mothers days and we are both in love with these! If you are looking for a good quality product for a decent price, THIS is the one! You get EXACTLY what you see!

First, this as a quality horn. I got the unadorned, plain and polished one. One thing was the thickness of the horn at one point in the rim was a touch on the thin side. I think it's manageable.Secondly, the lacquer used to seal the horn does have a smell. You will be sent care and prep directions on how to eliminate the smell. In short, fill it with water, add some lemon juice and let it sit overnight, then wash with soap and water. However, once the smell is gone, it's perfectly fine to have a drink from. I quite enjoy drinking my mead from this horn.It comes with a stand, but it could use some tweaking to have the horn sit better. As is, mine leans forward a little bit. Not enough to cause it to tip, but just enough to cause consternation. The hole cut in the stand could use a little shaping for each individual horn to have it sit more upright and more stably. Nothing a dremel can't fix, but wear breathing protection, as you don't want to breathe in horn dust.

Love it. The quality and craftsmanship is what I was expecting and more. It will make a great Christmas gift. I also have to give kudos to the seller, Daaxo Wares LLC, for their superb customer service. There originally was a slight mix-up in that the stand didn't quite fit the horn. Daaxo replaced the whole thing at no charge and got it to me in three days, in plenty of time for the holidays. So, I salute them for going above and beyond the call of duty (even Viking standards!) and I hope to have the opportunity of doing business with them again. (I should mention, too, that they contacted me a couple of times out of the blue, as well, just to make sure I was satisfied and didn't have any questions. I call that excellent customer service!)

Very gorgeous, my fiance loved it!It does feel a little more 'plastic-y' than I expected, but then again I've never bought something like this before, so I'm not sure if that's normal or not!Regardless, it's absolutely stunning, the bracelet is beautiful as well (and very heavy/sturdy!). Overall, we love it!

It's an absolutely beautiful piece. Even better than I expected. It perfectly holds a pint and came with a great little stand so I don't have to continuously hold it. The fact that it came with a year warranty is also really cool. Lastly, I couldn't be happier with how engaging the Jarl has been. From personally emailing to let me know that it shipped (aside from the updates from Amazon), to sending me care instructions, to letting me know how to replace my ox horn, should I need to, I couldn't be more pleased. It's great to see that there are still companies who know how to treat clients. I will definitely be doing business with them in the future.

I bought the Original style drinking horn for my husband for his birthday and although the horn itself was beautiful and well polished, the brass rim adornment is junk. As shown by the photos, it is not wrapped flush around the rim; there are visible gaps. And you can see the glue around the edges. I requested a replacement and received a second horn with a rim that was even worse; it was actually loose and ready to fall off. I've been spoke to customer service and the offered me a discount which I've accepted and kept the horn. This company has some cool products, but they need to boost the quality control in their production department.

I always really wanted one of these , but I was a bit unsure with this one at first because it's made in India and the price. It's worth looking past that, because it is very cool looking and well made. Good size, good weight and imperfect in a natural looking way. If you are humming and haa ing, id say its worth it!

The horn itself is stunning and my husband was a very happy man today unwrapping it but I was very disappointed that the bracelet was not included in the package- how do I request to get a bracelet sent.

Looks are amazing sits beautiful in the holder, tastes like s*** but it's a real horn so it doesn't put me off! I'm sure it will put hairs on my chest and can already feel the masculinity bursting from every cell in my very existence, I've already taken down three and a half people with a single axe swing whilst sipping a mead and contemplating which county I should take first.!
