Despite the case not claiming to be digital ANYWHERE, it really does have the renew code for VUDU.
Twice now I have ordered this movie as bluray plus ultraviolet. Both times only the disc arrived. Compare my picture to the one in the description. They are not the same.REVISED: a couple of hours later.I am revising my rating to three stars. The thing with movies is you only know for sure what is printed on the outside. Once you open a video, you can't return it. For whatever reason people think you are trying to pirate it. In any event, the picture of my disc did not anywhere claim to include the digital version. So I sent the first one back. The second one, I was going to just keep and buy the digital one anyway (against my better judgment). Well when I opened it, there was a certificate for renewing an UltraViolet version. I punched the code into VUDU and now have the digital item. So I am still giving this a 3-star rating because of the box. It is HIGHLY misleading.

I loved this movie
I laughed, I cried, I was back in the first game room in Anchorage at Jewel Lake Bowl in 1980 with all my friends and all the newest video games while watching this movie. My kids stared as I giggled, screamed at the screen, and I cheered when certain songs came on or a video game long dormant in my memory made an appearance in PIXELS. I want to be in a live version of DONKEY KONG. why hasn't anyone made this a reality show? seriously. I would watch that. I loved this movie. I miss making a night of it going to the arcade with my folks to play stand up video games. all the lights flashing, the music blaring, my folks were always terrible at the games but we had so much fun. This movie should have been marketed to those of us who were on the front lines of the video revolution. I had never heard of it till this year. if I could I would go back in time for one more night of Centipede, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Stargate, with my brother, friends and my folks, circa 1980, anchorage Alaska, - thank you for Pixels, it brought up great memories and when I want to relive those I will pop in Pixels and go for a ride down memory lane. great family fun flick!

Let the nerds take over!
The start of this movie brought back a lot of nostalgia as a bunch of kids compete in a 1980s video game competition. The premise of the film is that aliens have come to Earth to challenge in to three old video games for the future of the planet. America’s response? “Let the nerds take over!” It’s a very fun and original take on the alien invasion theme. The cast is very good as well. Adam Sandler plays the old cynical video king who’s given a second chance in life. Kevin James is the bumbling president. Josh Gad is the nerd conspiracy theorist. Peter Dinklage is the egotist.

It's Centipede.
Cool, this is pretty much how I escape from work. Play, beat the game, defeat the boss, enjoy that feeling. While you don't actually get to see the 'aliens' in this movie, but everything else seems believable. That alien appears directly under the spacecraft, is that Jim Carrey by chance? I like how they turn a one-dimensional game into 3D, not super awesome, but kind of awesome. There are two little details I dislike while watching. When Sam punches the wonder kid right out of the van in the middle of the road, it's over-reacted, and unnecessary. Then later, the wonder kid tries to thank Sam for being the best or cool buddy then all the sloppy wet kissing, is also totally unnecessary. Remember that old lady in the London apartment block doing workout while the Centipede destroying the building. I just want to ask, is she deaf? Totally 100% deaf. Let me skip to the ending, when Q-bert turns into Lady Lisa and later the wonder kid the two get married I assume and the result is a bunch of little Q-berts? That's kind of freaky, disturbing, goosebumps all over my skin, don't you think?

Boy Eats Ghost
I thought for SURE this movie would be absolutely worthless, but I have to admit, I was tempted to give it 5-stars, as it does exactly what it should do. It plays to it's target audience. If you're an old school gamer from the dawn of videogames, or simply a retro fan, this movie will do it for you. If not, it most likely won't at all, lol. But, at the end of the day, a 5-star movie is one that changes your life. If an Adam Sandler movie ever changes your life, just end it. If you saw Happy Gilmore, and went on to win the Stanley Cup, understand that you are the single largest walking paradox reality has ever witnessed, and that can't be safe. That said, I give a Stephen Colbert tip of the hat to Adam Sandler for royally not sucking. Not "not royally sucking"... "royally not sucking". There is a difference. It's really good, man. You are still of great value to the world, so go out there and just bathe in the oceans of babes surely breaking down your front door, like a tsunami of raw desire. You killed it. /gratsPS: I didn't see Golden Axe... saved for the sequel?*And now, the severe beating of an 80's arcade gamer, by Ogre from "Revenge of the Nerds"* (probably sounds like a lot of jingling... and crying)

Great for Nostalgia Purposes.
As an old-school gamer, I spent a lot of my time at the arcades playing video games until my lunch money ran out. Having this movie in my Blu-ray collection brought back a lot of childhood memories, nevermind that it is starring Adam Sandler, to a degree, he is close to my age so I guess he can relate to those video game days at the arcades. I would recommend this to anybody nostalgic for those video game days. Movie's plot is a bit lame, but then, the throwback was worth the trip. If you happen to be an Adam Sandler fan, well don't delay to order this.

At least one viewing necessary to suss out your incarnation on this planet
4th time still had its charms. The CGI kept me with the film and even some of the story still worked for me. Yeah, I know, I know, Adam Sandler. Sue me. My inner schlub is the same age as his inner schlub, about 6 and a half years old, and he's a life-long major reminder of my dire psychological predicament.Meanwhile, most youngsters should love this film, but some of the parts are only fitting for the entertainment sensibilities of a child who has not yet fully mastered language. Makes me squirm, yep, the "silly" can get painful, but I can't help watching Sandler's films...well, most of them. But this one owns me as the bulk of the others do not.

What a complete waste of money
I disliked it within 5mins after the chubby stereotype stole what must have been over a hundred dollars of cash from the girl selling drinks. It didn't get better. This film didn't just focus on games from the 80's, it seems to have the stereotypes and racism from the 80's too.Couldn't get through to the end of the film, it was that bad, that is unlike me as I like to give films the chance to redeem themselves. When is Adam Sandler going to realize that things have moved on in the world including the film industry? It pinches the screaming relative scene straight from The Big Bang Theory.Once again, we see the US saving the world, this time in England...where the racism was so bad, I could no longer watch.Okay...the whole film is a joke film for children. It has a 12 Cert Rating! This is more like a film for 4 year olds.Dreadful, do not buy.

Absolutely amazing steelbook for a great film!
I fully realize that Pixels is not the most beloved film of all time, but I adore it. I think it's far better than people give it credit for, but it is directly aimed at a certain generation that came up in the days of the Atari 2600 and 'old school' arcades. While I had already purchased this locally here in the States in 3D, I could not pass up this steelbook due to the price and how amazing the steelbook itself is. I prefer steelbooks if available, and this is one of my favorites that I own out of a rather decently sized collection. If you collect steelbook or even remotely like this film, do NOT pass this up at this exceptionally cheap price. The cost including shipping overseas for me was less than $10.00. It almost felt like I was stealing.

Funny,funny,funny
This film is brilliant. For a comedy film i was amazed with the quality of the special effects and how it looks like a big budget film that you don't see usually with comedy films.I got the 3D version which makes the film even better.Seeing computer game characters from the 80's also brings back good memories. If you like special effect films and comedies then this is a double gift for you.Excellent!

Great film and fab to watch in 3D as well ...
Great film and fab to watch in 3D as well as 2D.. As an adult watching with my children 8 & 11 we think it is great. The rating is 12, but apart from some bad language I thought this was suitable for my children. The concept of using classic arcade games which aliens use to attack earth is original and these vintage games took me back to my youth. ( my son thinks it's cool I played these games ) Overall well worth a watch ( watched at least 7 times so far ) A family favourite. Who doesn't love Adam Sandler and Kevin James.

Gaming memories
It's a very entertaining film, from the days of the eighties and beyond of the ataris and Nintendo's, pixels is a must to buy if you like the gaming world of pixels and controllers you will enjoy this, and it's got Adam Sandler as a bonus, can't be bad 👍😃
