Useful, sure. The table itself is great for use as needed. However, the pen holder looks and feels extremely cheaply made, and wasn't as easy to put together as advertised (it took more force than it should've to force the pieces together). The corner of the drawer broke off in my hand when I pulled it out (not rendering it useless, it was a pretty small chunk, but irritating nonetheless) and slides all the way through the opposite way with little effort. All of this could have been overlooked, except on top of everything, I ordered the tan beige color and got what looks like an odd mix of black and dark brown.None of this makes me want to return it, because I like it anyways, but I wouldn't recommend buying one for yourself and I wouldn't buy it again.
