You can't go wrong with ATEN KVMs. In hindsight I do wish I'd splurged for one with EDID support, but that's a minor nitpick and I don't switch machines frequently enough to really need it that much.

I installed it, and it works just fine. Switches a VGA monitor, and a keyboard (USB) and a mouse (USB) at the press of a button.

I'm using this to connect an ubuntu desktop with a lenovo laptop, using a logitech wireless keyboard / mouse. Connected everything and it worked right out of the box. Even the calculator button, the volume buttons, and the F-keys are working fine. Like many KVMs, the cables could be longer, and the USB cables dont need to be attached so closely to the monitor cables (my monitor input on the laptop is on a side w/ only one usb port, and so i needed to use a usb extension cable to connect the other usb). According to the manufacturer's info, this switch does NOT act as an emulator. I'm no expert on KVM, but the lack of emulation seems to be working just fine. Sometimes I just use one monitor and switch between computers, and my laptop keeps the proper resolution when I switch over to the desktop. I also sometimes use the laptop in a dual monitor setup, with the external monitor as either secondary or primary, and have had no problems switching back and forth. I have only had this for one day, so perhaps things will change over time, but been using it happily all day without a single issue. Only reason its not 5 stars is the cable length and the fact that they could easily make the USB connections unravel further so they could be more maneuverable. Solid overall.

I now can use one windows computer and one linux computer without having to do very much to change .

This is pretty awkward to setup but does its job once installed. I use this to go between my XIM4 and PC. Occasionally the XIM4 needs to be power cycled because it loses all connection, this isn't a huge inconvenience to me and would probably occur with any of the much more expensive options as well.

Most KVM makers don't recommend or provide support for wireless keyboards and mice, but this works flawlessly in my application (Microsoft Sculpt Ergo Keyboard and a separate Logitech mouse that accompanies a keyboard/mouse combo set). I had trouble with one of my iogear KVM models that didn't support my wireless mouse and keyboard (the iogear KVM with a similar setup other one works fine). I didn't like the Logitech ergo keyboard so I switched to the Microsoft. Works flawlessly and put my challenges attempting to make the iogear one to rest.

It is exactly what I expected. The fact that all the cables are built-in to the switch makes installation a breeze. The switch button has a long enough cord that I can place it exactly where it works best for me. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is that when I switch away from my Linux box (Debian Etch) and return, I get a whole screen full of error messages. While this may be due to my own ignorance of configuring Linux, it was frustrating not to be able to find information on how to fix this. Works perfectly on the Windows side.

I had ordered a cheap KVM switch for $18.99. I was disappointed the moment I set it up since it made the screen jittery so I returned it. So I decided to spend the extra $10 to get this one. Boy am I glad I did. This works great. No screen jitter, and it works exactly as they said it would. I highly recommend this KVM switch.

El aparato cumple con lo que dice y funciona sin problemas. He trabajado con otros conmutadores (usb y ps2) y este con diferencia es el mejor. - El conmutado es bastante rápido (~2-3 segundos). - Soporta FullHD. - El mando a distancia, con cable, para conmutar es un buen extra que te permite esconder el conmutador y dejar en el escritorio solo el mando con el pulsador. El cable del mando es bastante largo. - Viene con el juego cables, aunque no son 'desmontables'. - Se alimenta del puerto usb Como contras pondría lo fino que son los cables, especialmente el del mando a distancia. El cable del mando se ve frágil. En cualquier caso es un buen producto; lo volvería a comprar. EDITO 2018/06/02: Después de 6 años con el conmutador, mantengo mi opinión. El tema de la fragilidad del cable del mando, lo sigo manteniendo aunque por suerte a mi no se me ha partido, en parte porque lo fije por debajo del escritorio por lo que no ha tenido más guerra que pulsar el botón. Si estas en duda, este conmutador es una buena elección.

Ne ho provati diversi e questo è l'unico che non presenta difetti di Black Screen, funziona perfettamente, assolutamente consigliato.

After using this product for about one month, the wired remote button started to get stuck when pressed to switch PC, and the product switches continuously to and from one PC and the other. I requested the seller to return it (or a replacement), but apparently I'm already out of the available return time window (after a little more than one month!) I'm very unsatisfied with this product, that in my opinion costs too much in spite of being technically very simple and "of Japanese quality".

Vorab, ich arbeite schon Jahre mit Komponenten der Fa. ATEN. Sehr gute, qualitativ hochwertige Produkte. Mein jetziger, funktionstüchtiger DVI KVM von ATEN mit zusätzlichen (externen) DVI-HDMI Adapter sollte gegen einem zeitgemäßen HDMI KVM von ATEN ausgetauscht werden. PCs, Monitor und Eingabegeräte sind gleichgeblieben! Leider immer wieder sporadisch auftretendes Problem mit „Maus- Tastatur Stabilität“, diese verweigern einfach die Funktion im Betriebsablauf, nur Neustart über Powerknopf am PC möglich! Wenn ein PC in den Energiesparmodus wechselt, ist dieser über den KVM nicht mehr zu aktivieren! Verschiedene Eingabegeräte Logi getestet, Kabel- wie auch Funk- Version! Kontaktaufnahme mit ATEN Kundendienst, mit Tipps, aber leider ohne technische Lösung. Zuverlässiges Arbeiten ist so leider nicht möglich, sehr schade, die Qualität des Produktes ist sehr gut, Funktion leider nicht stabil bei MEINEM System! Bei vielen USER läuft es ohne Probleme! Man bedenke: Energie & Bios Einstellungen der PC`s, sowie Monitorenergieeinstellungen wirken sich auf die Funktion des KVM aus. Bei meinem System konnte ich die Kompatibilität mit dem HDMI KVM nicht einstellen / finden.
