Q: Has anyone taken this water bottle to a lab to verify that it truly self cleans?

Truly self cleans is a very tall order and sort of a misnomer. Which yes as is the advertising.. It’s a A UV-C light in the bottle. Amazing none the less as that’s very cool. Just don’t expect reverse osmosis multi stage filter and setup . that a UV-C light cannot provide.. I just don’t want people thinking it will filter their water which a lot of people want a clean source of drinking water. To do that requires multi stages in filters and yes a UV-C treatment as well. UV-C is a known step to purifying water and believe being container in this bottle it should absolutely work as intended

Come on LARQ this is getting ridiculous. Who uses micro USB anymore!! You are hurting your own sales here and soon you won’t be able to sell micro USB in Europe anymore! Make the change! I’m not buying until you do!

Q: What about water with added lemon? Would I still have to hand wash?

Great question! If you’re putting sugary drinks, coffee or anything other than water, including lemons, in your LARQ Bottle, the bottle should be hand washed. Hope that helps!

Q: Will the UV light turn off when the lid is opened?

The LARQ Bottle does have a Safety Mode, which is indicated by a flashing orange light that prevents accidental activation when the cap is not on the bottle by dimming the UV-C LED light. One should never place the activated UV-C LED in direct contact with the skin or eyes.
