I have performed all of my bicycle maintenance myself for decades. It's not overly complicated and quite satisfying, however brake and shifter cables are an often overlooked element of bicycle maintenance. They perform an important function for many years and often perform well with years of neglect, but this is not how they should be treated. The degradation in performance it's so slow that it's easy to overlook as the cause of poor shifting and poor braking. I recently purchased these cables in an effort to improve the shifting on several of my bikes. These cables arrived quickly and I could notice immediately that they seemed to be of a very high quality and we're offered at an extremely reasonable price. With proper tools, installation is very straightforward. New cable housings and cable ends are also an important part of this procedure to ensure that the job is properly done, and these I also purchased on Amazon. Several cable ends and housing ends, as well as small silicone "donuts" to eliminate cable rattle against the bike frame are included with the cables. The cables arrive in two different lengths, to accommodate the front and rear derailleurs. A light coat of grease can help ensure smooth operation and help prevent rust for many years. I have purchased this product multiple times and will continue to do so in the future. All this and very reasonable price.

The cables are good and the fittings are useful when you are doing replacements. It is good to have a few extra cables around for emergencies.
