Can this hold a thick box cutter in the back pocket?

Hello, the back pocket is 3 inches wide, and 5 1/4 inches deep. I tried my box cutter, which is 1.38 inches (35mm) wide, 0.6 inches (15mm) thick, 6.4 inches long. After inserting this box cutter in the pocket, there is still room for a thick marker. Please measure yours, compared with mine, and see if yours fits the back pocket.

Hello, it's not made of elastic or stretchy material. The first slot is designed for a regular pencial, the 2/3/4 slots are designed for regular pen, the 5th slot is designed for a regular marker or a small utility knife. Hope this answer helps.

Is fabric hard or soft? I am looking for soft material.

The material is durable polyester fabric. I would say more hard then soft. This product has done me well.
