Softer than original but easier to install - 2003 ford taurus 3.0 ohv
Much easier to install new one than it was to remove hard plastic old one to resolve air leak

This connects the 3/8 inch hose of my PCV valve to the valve cover
Since I was getting CEL (on my 2002 Sable) that meant I probably had a vacuum leak, this was where I looked first. It required a 3/8 inch barb connecter to fit between the small end and a piece of 3 inch ID emissions tubing which fit onto the PCV valve. The old elbow was difficult to pull off and required cutting to remove it. Upon examination, it had split on the underside the larger end of the old elbow. Because it was inexplicably slow being delivered (about 3 weeks), I bought one from a local auto parts store, but that one cost almost double of what this one cost for exactly the same elbow (Dorman 46305).

Fits my 2003 Ford Taurus perfectly
It’s a very easy part to purchase and install, even for someone with no mechanical knowledge. This was exactly what I needed. Great price too. I replaced my pcv valve maybe 6 years ago and it cracked again. This is something that can cause many seemingly mysterious problems with your car, and it’s a good idea to keep an eye on it. I’m not sure if it’s a particular issue with the make and model of my car or what, but this is the second time I’ve had to deal with it. No local stores even had it in stock.

'02 Mercury Sable GS - Perfect part!
First, I purchased this PCV elbow as my mechanic made it clear that my "breather elbow" would need replacement soon. Through a little online research and reaching out to the Amazon community, I was able to determine that this was the part that I needed.I have an '02 Mercury Sable GS and the PCV elbow was easily visible on the top/left quadrant of the engine. All I had to do was simply pop the old one off and pop this new one on in its place.I was having an issue with my RPMs when the defroster/AC/floor fans were on while the car was in park. I would turn on my defroster while in park and the RPMs would start to sporadically drop to near zero, causing my battery light to flash for a second before the RPMs jumped back up to normal idle again. By replacing this PCV elbow, I assume it fixed an issue with leaking pressure as the route of air was diverted (I can't say for sure).Either way, this was the part that I needed and I am more than pleased with its function so far. Even if it only lasts 6 months, I'm willing to pay $20 a year for the rest of this car's life without hesitation. It's just nice to be able to turn my car on without worrying about idle issues.

Does the job
Not an exact fit for 01 Ford Taurus (the original one has two notches in the bottom) but it does the job. No more check engine light with code for oxygen sensor failure.I was receiving the check engine code months before the crack in the elbow got bad enough to affect the running of the car. I knew I probably had a vacume leak somewhere, but the car was running well.If you get an oxygen sensor failure code check your pcv and connecters right away.
