Please do your research on leca before using it and then writing negative reviews on a product you don’t know how to use! This is some of the BEST leca I’ve ever used. It arrived well packaged and it was already damp in the bag which is what you want for leca. There was a good mix of smaller and larger pieces to work with. ALWAYS rinse your leca and soak it before use! The white stuff that appears on your leca ISNT mold - it’s mineral buildup!! This is why you’re supposed to flush your leca about once every week or so to get rid of this buildup! Make sure you’re using a full NPK fertilizer for your plants that are potted in leca!!

Comes in a 2 foot tall bag. Dusty. Must soak and dispose of clay dust water afterwards. 99% of the balls are intact, but 1% are shards and can fall through net pots and into your drain when rinsing. Overall satisfied with this product. You could probably buy leca for cheaper at online hydroponics stores or local orchid hydro shops. But if for Amazon, this was one of the best deals I saw.

Soaking for over a week, and then boiled. They still wouldn't sink. I had to crush them, then boil them again. So if you are looking to use them in an aquarium - don't.

This Leca is so under rated compared to other brands. I personally have tried several brands of leca, this one is by far the best leca that I can get from Amazon. The pebbles are oval in shape, consistent in size, very little broken pieces, and very clean, I don’t need to rinse too hard like the other brands do. The price point is right too. I highly recommend this brand of leca.

Fast shipping, no problems

You can find "hydroton" on EBay but you may end up with a bag of lava rock pebbles. This is the real deal and if you are not sure the difference, these clay pebbles float, the lava pebbles dont. You can see many comments about these being very "dusty", as you can see from the photo of the water after washing them off, it is nothing unusual about it. A bit of dust from rubbing together in the bag and it should be expected with real unglazed clay. Another complaint is about all the "broken" pieces. While many are still usable, as you can see by the photo, I separated all the broken pieces into a 3" flower pot. As you can also see in a photo, the overall vast majority are not broken. If you are looking at "Deep Water Cultures", one 10L bag should fill 4 8" net pots. Great product and I would buy again if I end up needing more at any point.

I didn't have to rinse too long for this batch. I'm very pleased ... I usually rinse them in small batches, per how much I need them over a strainer before transferring them to a bucket for soaking. I think also, the breakage and dust most likely has something to do with how people were handling them and how much it's been handled, like during transport, storing, shipping then delivery. If you think about it, these are made from clay, so what does people expect when they get clay balls in bulk, and shipped. Or people want the company to pack the balls like they would with glassware, packing each ball separately in shock proof styrofoam, and charge 10x the price you get now? If people want to review a product, think before you do so.

The product was great but the sizes vary drastically. Not a huge deal but made it a little tricky to make it flat for the drainage layer i was making. Outside of the bag was filthy when recieved.

Different sized clay balls, makes for a beautiful display medium. Lots of dust but give them a good soak and they’re good to go!
