I play piano. i want a solid, piano-like first midi controller to explore sequencing, probably with garageband, at first. is this one it?

I ordered the SL-73 a few months ago with the intent to use it for gigging when we play very small stages. I specifically ordered it for the weighted keys and that it was only 73 keys. I've been extremely happy with the key bed and the piano like response. (Used it on several gigs) Being a piano player, it is very difficult for me to play swing and jazzy type lines on a keyboard that doesn't have a piano touch. This one works well and fits my needs for the piano feel. I'm still getting accustomed to the controls for switching patches, and setting up pedals, but that will come with repetition! Good keyboard for my needs!

The SL88 is priced similarly at $499. Is there a difference between versions?

As far as I know the only difference between the SL88 and the SL73 is the keyboard. SL73 has 73 fully weighted keys and the SL88 has 88 fully weighted (even heavier than the SL73) keys.

Where is this keyboard made?

I believe this keyboard is made where the company is located in Italy.

I was wondering if this came with a sustain pedal? i assume not of course but saw a youtube video of the sl88 with an included sustain pedal so 🤞🏻

The SL88 and SL73 both come with a sustain pedal. Facotry B-stocks also include the pedal.

Ahhh. That's BETTER

Excellent real piano feel. Very pleasant to play. Not prohibitively heavy. Sufficient for my playing ability, in terms of number of keys. Not really expensive, though ironic that several larger boards are cheaper. Was a matter of fitting in my stand for me.The software companion is something only a piano player might love. Could be better and more intuitive... at least if it were similar to absolutely ANYTHING else out there, that'd be nice.

Tasto perfetto (Fatar) e pesato il giusto, la tastiera nel totale pesa anche poco. Ottimo utilizzo dei joistick. Nulla da dire, alta qualità. Italiana. Punto.

Kompakt, Leicht, ohne überflüssigen Schnickschnack

Mit einer Länge von 104 cm für eine 73er Tastatur und gerade mal 11,5 kg ideal für den Transport aber auch für zuhause platzsparend. Die Klaviatur ist im Vergleich zu einem Piano ein klein wenig träger. Für mich, der nur etwas Musik zum Hobby macht völlig OK. Nix klappert und auch ist sie angenehm leise. Ich benutze das Board in Verbindung mit Pianoteq 7 und Analog Lab 5 und muss sagen, das macht richtig Spaß und klingt fantastisch.

Una delicia pulsar sus teclas. Es todo un piano horizontal, sin cuerdas.

Una experiencia totalmente distinta a la de los otros controladores. Por fin las sensaciones de un piano hermanadas con un ordenador y su daw.Un lujo al alcance de todos.Es pesado, no me imaginaba que 12 kg pesaran tanto.Su acabado es impresionante. Se está convirtiendo en un amigo con el que espero pasar muy gratos momentos.
