don't push, the bit will do the work
I needed to drill a hole through a 8" thick 45 year old concrete wall to run the lines for my new heat pump. I picked up this bit, a 1-1/4"-7 Male to 5/8"-11 Female adapter, and a Makita 9566CV variable speed angle grinder. I created a plywood jib to hold the bit in place had an assistant run the garden hose while I set it against the wall and turned it loose.Eight inches of concrete stretched my little angle grinders abilities. As the grinder motor heated up we took a couple "lets go work on something else" breaks. As the bit gets deeper into the wall, it gets harder to keep the bit perfectly aligned and so extra "drag" starts making the amount of work to be done much higher. When I figured that out, I busted out the core slug which made a large difference, and was able to finish up the drill without any further overheating of the grinder.

appears good quality
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am a fence contractor and own a Milwaukee core drill, bought this to core a few holes on a concrete beam for a fence I need to build, already cored 20 cores 12" deep with rebar and so far is holding up pretty good, I see lots of people here that leave bad reviews on this core bits, but when I see their pictures I see a regular drill or a milwaukee hole hawg or even sds plus drills with the "adapters", you have to understand than these bits were meant to be used on a real core drill motor, with a constant water supply that pours INSIDE of the core and then comes out ..... NOT to pour the water on the outside hoping it will work the sameI will update later depending on the performanceUpdate 1: already did another job where I cored 90 holes and core bit worked wonderfully, no problems at all, went thru rebar like butter and stil has life in it's teeth

Makes clean cuts through well-cured (hard!) concrete slabs
Worked great with my little Bosch Bulldog hammerdrill with the "hammer" function turned-off (with an SDSPlus adapter I also bought on Amazon). I didn't have a pilot bit, but used an old trick for drilling holes in tile - tipped the drill bit 15-20 degrees off vertical and slow bit speed. I made a V with my feet with the bit resting at the vertex of the V, and used just the edge of the bit to start the hole. My daughter kept the bit lubricated with a 1 qt. spray bottle of water used to spray the hole/bit interface, and the bit made a perfect hole through the slab in our basement. The bit was great, but the Bosch started smelling like it was overheating before I finished - make sure your drill is heavy-duty, or let it cool down before continuing if it starts smelling or feeling hot.

Wet Drill works well
I recieved this bit promptly. The only hiccup was the drill thread adapter needs to be specific as threads are deeper than most. I asked Ediamond for a part number and they responded quickly with the correct adapter. I used this bit to cut two holes in a brick stoop to install a metal handrail. I was expecting each hole to take a fairly long time but the bit went through two layers of brick and then concrete base with ease only taking about half hour a hole. I made a template from 2x6 lumber and dripped a little water in the hole. It helped quite a bit to drill lifting a small amount (1/4")frequently almost like a hammering motion. Worked well for me.

Went through 8 inches of granite.
I Needed to drill through 8 inches of a granite stone for a 1 inch pipe. I kept cold water on during the drilling and the bit stayed nice and cool. It took some time ( about 40-45 minutes ) I bought an adapter to use with my drill but the threads were not long enough for the bit ( the Threads don't start at the top so 1 star deduction for that ). Luckily I also have a cordless Milwaukee grinder that fit perfectly. The grinder worked great and I was able to put a lot of pressure on it too without any overheating. I went through 4 batteries ( 5ah each ). I could have used a hammer drill and star bit for MUCH faster results but it would have blown out the rock on the other side. As other have said , you need to start the hole at about a 45 degree angle and then straighten up. The bit has plenty of life left too! Great drill bit.

Best value I could find
The product worked great and was the best value for the dollar. Used to core 6 inch wide holes in 6 inch deep patio. Used a 7 amp drill and but could only run 5 minutes at a time due to over heating. are used this adapter to fit it on my corded drill ( HEX500-2 Core Bit Adapter with 1-1/4"-7 Thread to 1/2" Shank https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7UABOF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SKkbFbSH4BGNX ). Had water running on it the whole time. Cut rebar no problem.

24" of concrete core drilled so far, no problems
I've drilled three 3" holes in 8" concrete walls and the bit continues to perform well. I'm using a hand held drill with a 1/2" chuck to hold the 1-1/4"-7 to 1/2" adapter. Starting the core is tricky and keeping it perpendicular to the surface is tricky. Having a second set of hands makes the start and drilling go much easier. The secret is to use enough water (to wash the cut concrete out of the core), be patient (like any diamond drill) and, as others have said, let the bit do the work. Great value, since having a concrete cutting company come out and drill these 3 holes would have cost me over $600!

Great product
Drilled couple holes into 4 inch exposed aggregate concrete and it worked like a charm,Not that easy to handle, it’s big and little awkward with a large right angle drill but did not take long to get it under control.Do your self a favor and buy a matching wood hole saw bit and make yourself a templet out of a 2x6, it makes it 10x easier.Great products imoAlso supplier did nice follow up on products as well.
