Great with a couple modifications
I love this detector. Yes it is expensive, however it is the absolute best in terms of saltwater beach detecting. No false hits, and with my other detector (Garrett Ace 250) getting close to the water made the machine go haywire due to the saltwater. With this unit I can go from dry sand to wet sand to surf with no issues. Looks nice and is a professional machine. However, it is not perfect. First, the armrest is just a solid hard piece of plastic. You may want to add some foam or swap handles to make it a little more padded. Second, the headphones while comfortable have no cushion on the headband, so you could use the sticky padding from old bicycle helmets to make more comfortable. Third issue are the stock knobs will break. Mine broke within about 3 years. However they sell cheap replacements for about $20 a set which operate on a allen key tighting instead of cheap plastic inserts like the original knobs which will break it is only a matter of when. Biggest issue is the weight of the machine. The coil and bar isnβt heavy, but the knob housing and battery pack is. I swapped that onto a belt to go around my waist to take the weight off my arm as it makes you get tired much quicker if you dont offload that extra weight somewhere. With those improvements, it is a fantastic machine.
