Q: Theoretically speaking, if i buy this and throw it in my neighbors yard. Will all the stray cats in the neighborhood leave my home and go to theirs?

Not likely. After the catnip is exposed to the air, the scent can dissipate rather quickly. You'd be better off quietly planting catnip plants somewhere in their yard. Theoretically speaking, of course.

Q: Lately the jars are full of black seeds, which my cats don't like or eat - they eat the green leaf part. What's up with all of the seeds & stems?

Consider yourself fortunate that you got free seeds which often cost more than just the dried catnip oz for oz. Plant those seeds in part of your "grounds" around your house that you don't care if it is taken over by catnip. Catnip is a kind of mint and it usually just takes over and spreads - probably to your cat's delight. You can harvest the catnip around the time it blooms for maximum potency. Tie the stems together and hang it until it dries then pull off the dried leaves (discard the stems and caterpillars and etc) and put them in a container with a tight seal - keep any seeds to sow to make your patch even thicker. Alternatively or in addition, you can also get a large pot (12" to 15" ) and sow the seeds thickly and keep it indoors in a bright spot. Keep your cat from it until it sprouts and becomes well established. Fresh catnip anytime for your cat desires. Don't over-water but don't let it completely dry out either. Plant more pots if your cat(s) decimate it. Your cat absolutely will love you!!! Unfortunately, I don't have a brightly lit place in my new home where I can grow catnip or vines for my cat.

Q: Why isn't the container sealed? Container opened during shipping, entire contents emptied..

There is no inside seal but the shipping department places sturdy tape over the top of the container. I know what you are talking about, I have had stuff without inner seals all over the shipping box. Hopefully each shipment the person sealing the box continues to place a protective tape on the lid.
