Se han usado para senderismo en alta montaña sin problemas, la configuración es sencilla por la aplicación CHIRP y se han asignado canales frs , tener en cuenta que el perfil del radio es Radioddity UV 5rx3, la batería con uso moderado ha alcanzado los 3 días con un uso aproximado de 8 horas diarias.

I bought this to get a reason to finally get a license and to download some sstv images. BAODUNG is more like it. Even the method to use the alternate "radiooddity" won't work. I'm asking for a return before I throw it at the floor.

I think this unit looks better than most Baofeng radios; but, if you buy the yellow/orange case color because it's cheaper than other colors, there's a reason for that, LOL--the LCD background light glows brightly through the yellow case beside the left side of the LCD display--rather annoying, even in a lighted room. Although this model has a battery that can be charged by USB--very handy in an emergency-- it's not compatible/interchangeable with the far more common UV-5R Baofeng batteries and a little hard to find online. And, as others have noted, output power is very inconsistent. Then again, for one additional S unit of reception, you normally have to quadruple your power, so there would not be a great difference between 5 watts and 8 watts--it's the antenna that really matters. I finally found one unit that was putting out around 10 watts; but, these have very inconsistent quality; hit or miss on finding any unit outputting over 5 watts. Having said that, these Baofeng HTs are such a tremendous bargain that I just had to give 4 stars. Frequency range, even on transmit, is very wide, far exceeding the 70cm and 2M Ham bands..

Hasta el momento todo bien, el radio es fácil configurarlo, las pruebas que he hecho con algunas repetidoras, se escucha solo estática, no se si sea que no lo programe bien o sea la antena, en los siguientes días haré más pruebas con otras antenas. La antena extra 771 no es nagoya original pero espero sea Abbree ya que no se ve la marca. Actualizaré mi opinión más adelante.

With the charging base, USB charge cable, programming cable and other goodies, this is a nice little kit for not much money. I haven't had the time to do a deep dive into actual output power but so far, I can hit a repeater 18 miles away with a clean, readable signal. Build quality is good and so far, I'm liking it.There are a few quirks you should be aware of.1. To use CHIRP to program the radio, you can't use the Baofeng profile. Instead use "Radioddity UV-5RX3."2. In order to transmit on the 1.25m band, you'll need to download the CPS software from the Radioddity site, again, for the UV-5RX3 model. Once connected, start the software and from the Edit Menu, select "Frequency Range Setting." Select "136-260/400-520." This will turn on transmit capability for 220MHz.Hopefully this will save you some time in getting full enjoyment from the radio.
