4th in the Harmony Series
Just Down the Road is the 4th in the Harmony Series.. and again we meet new characters that we have never met before and touch base with a few we have met before.. But the focus has drifted from Reagan with whom this all started and starts following the new characters and barely remembers all the other characters I actually liked.. After all that we went thru with Ronelle in the last books she only shows up a few times with food etc. and the undertaker as to again wait for his army lady (his Kate) good grief I want to help him.. a good tried and true Southern saying fits him so well "Bless his heart". Noah shows up for a long stay (for him) and he and Reagan seem to be getting somewhere (just not sure how it happened cause we got left out of the details) Instead we have moved to two totally new characters and the mess they are both in. Doc Spencer is so wrapped up in her shallow self you just do not want to like her and Tinch is a great guy that should have done a better job protecting things after the author played up all his plans.. pretty wimpy if you ask me.. and why we are on the subject of jobs the little Sheriff who is always bragged upon by the author as being so good.. always seems to never be there when things are going down.. in real life if someones life is in danger I would hope that the sheriff would do a better job protecting people.. Our climax is on the high side of stupid and of course we had to throw Reagan in some how to keep her in the story which I thought the orginal book was about. Anyway.. the book leaves us finally with Noah and Reagan which leads me to believe that maybe just maybe the 5th book will be about them.. I shall hope.. because the other characters are getting old and not sure if I can handle even more new characters on top of the already confused pile.Ok.. just checked out the 5th book and it does not look good.. seems like new characters are here again.. not sure how long this series is going to be.. I just want to see what happens to Reagan and Noah..

Incredible writing; can't think of a better book.
Do you know that feeling you get when you are reading a good book, and when you have to stop and you close the book, you look to see how far into the book you have gotten, and you are appalled to see that you are farther along than you want to be, and you don't want to stop reading but you don't want to read it too quickly? It's happened to me many times but this time it feels worse. This book is wonderful! I have loved all the Harmony books and they are all going to be re-read someday, but these folks have just grabbed my heart and my full attention. As usual, Jodi has several stories going at once and she is masterful at fleshing out each set of characters, their relationships and each person's journey through various situations. SO GOOD! The only other author that I can think of who is good at it is Debbie Macomber (Cedar Cove series). But sorry, this series is just superior. Every reviewer of Just Down the Road has laid out the various storylines and I don't need to -- I'm agreeing with everything they've said. Jodi's Website says this book debuted #15 on NYT List - that's a crime; it should be #1. If anyone is not yet convinced to read this book based on the reviews already posted, TAKE A CHANCE ANYWAY! Thank you, Jodi, for creating and sharing this wonderful town!

More Harmony stories PLEASE--LOVED THIS ONE
This is by far my favorite of the Harmony series. It had everything I like in a book--romance, laughs, tears, & intrigue. In my review of "The Comforts of Home" I was upset about too many characters & story lines to be good for me. This one on the other hand did have several stories lines but they were from the other books so it helped put an end to them or at least add on to them. The MAIN STORY WAS about Tinch, the boy, & Dr. Addison, but you did hear about Reagan, her uncle, & her two guys, along with the Major & Tyler (& his group at the funeral home). I didn't feel like this one had too many stories going at once since she really didn't introduce many new characters except for the main ones & one other which she basically fit into the story. My only complaint since this is supposed to be the last one or so people are saying, I would LIKE to have known why the Major just stopped contacting Tyler & what happened to some of the other characters from the series. I really enjoyed reading this one & could hardly put it down. I recommend this book to anyone who has read the series. You could also pick it up & read if you haven't read the series, but I don't think it would be as enjoyable since you're not invested in the characters.

Reat Read With a Who Done It
Just Down the Road is the fourth book in the Harmony Series by Jodi Thomas. All of this series of books are well worth reading so be sure to start with Welcome to Harmony in order to obtain the most enjoyment from the series.Just Down the Road captures the lives of three different main characters who make Harmony their home. Their lives are intertwined as the story moves along. Some find love and acceptance that they have searched for all of their lives. All in all Jodi Thomas spins a great story of the lives of all of the people in the small town of Harmony. Past characters show up and new ones appear for the first time. A reader can almost think of the place as their own personal town. The series is well worth reading. I have already preordered the next book in this series so that is enough to tell you that I am waiting to read another portion of the lives of those people in that town. It is worth your time to read all of the books.
