Cave Maker!I bought for my office that get direct sunlight in morningsI do digital painting and color sensitive (monitor) work. and need to control the light.This thing is perfect. and look professional/cleanPros:-It blocks all the light with the exception of the spill from edges (minimal)-Installation is easy. They include a nice template for easy measurement.-once up, it's easy to use.Cons (cautions)-get the measurement it RIGHT. the margin of error is less than a quarter inch.-The plastic cable should be GENTLY pulled. It can jam if you pull to hard or too fast.-try to get screws into studs/wood. drywall anchors are small, and will probably fail over time.

The plan was to utilize this Black blind to block sun reflections from a Television and to be installed so that the existing window covering, another window shade, would still be functional. So this is really much more of a custom installation than could be provided in the shade installation instructions! However for a standard installation they woud do except, there is a template clear strip provided to be used somehow, and either instructions for strip fell out or not there but ??? I have my custom install completed and functioning as expected

The blackout fabric works well but I’m not fond of the plastic chain used to lower and raise the shade. It seems very flimsy and I’m not sure it will last very long. Also, if you install the shade to wind up towards the back as in the pictures, the ugly plastic fabric is showing. We wanted the prettier fabric to face towards the room so we installed it to wind in the opposite direction. Not a big deal and seems to work fine.

I work midnights and my husband and I stupidly replaced our bedroom black out curtains with cuter ones-which means I can't sleep very well during the day since it's so bright. These block a lot of light and they are easy to use.

Ive been looking for a good blackout window shade for the double window in our bedroom. The window is 70" wide on the outside of the window frame, and I got the 73" curtain. The curtain itself is more like 72" but the mounting hardware reaches 73" across. They included a clear plastic measuring tape, which I taped up to help with installation. It was possible to install with one person, but would have been a bit easier with two. The included drywall anchors are a bit flimsy and the first one bent, but luckily I had a spare.We have tried eclipse curtains, in the past but white ones still let in light. I installed this roller shade and wow, it works. I've included a picture with the lights off, and with daylight outside you can see just the tiniest bit of light on the side. At night, you can't see any light coming in at all. I imagine that mounting it backwards so it rolls under and fits even closer to the wall would eliminate even that sliver of light, but I like the look as it is.I will say that the chain does not necessarily move the shade super smoothly. But, the window shade seems sturdy enough, especially for the price. I'll update if anything changes but I am quite happy with this for now.

These shades are great as room darkening window treatment. They are a bit tricky to I stall because if the attachments are not correctly spaced the shades will fall off. This was the only fault I found when I went to put them up. When I had to remove the attachment to correct this it was tough because of the holes from the previous placement. They work fine once I corrected the placement.
