As someone who works outside half of the day I needed something that would keep the wind from cutting through my knit hat and possibly cover the space between the hat and my jacket. This does a great job as an extra layer to protect you from cold wind. It is not thick by any means and it will not provide warmth, but what it does do is prohibit harsh cold winds from stripping you of body heat. The only complaint I have is wishing it were a little bit longer to slip into my collar

I'm using this balaclava for bicycle riding in the 35 to 45 degree range [Fahrenheit]. The lower face section doesn't hinge as freely as I had expected from the illustration. However, it still allows me to use the balaclava with my chin covered but with my entire mouth exposed. I find that any covering of my mouth causes my glasses to fog up too much.Assuming that your bicycle helmet is well ventilated, the first cold weather product to buy is a windproof bicycle helmet cover such as this one. The helmet cover carries me down to around 45 degrees. Adding the balaclava takes me down to 35 degrees. Temps below 35 are too cold for me. All of the above temps assume mostly sunny conditions without strong, sustained winds.

I'm a postal carrier and winters can be brutal. I love this face mask it keeps me warm and it is comfortable so much so I sometimes forget I'm wearing it. It keeps the wind out and cold out! Plus its moisture wicking fabric keeps me from being a sweaty mess even after 10+ hrs of wear

I use this daily in the winter to go outside and let the rescue dogs I foster out to potty one at a time. I can put a ball cap under it with a light and it is totally functional. I also love it as a warm option under my motorcycle helmet. Could be softer fabric, but I'm guessing that's the windproof part so it's not really a complaint.

The Balaclava ski Mask is OK, fairly well made, has a nice LONG neck portion HOWEVER, unless you have a TINY head you are in for trouble. This Mask would be better suited for children. OR Adults with a size 7.0 head or smaller. I have very short hair and I have to FORCE the mask over my head and once on it is very uncomfortable. Fits as expected is a JOKE unless you are a kid. Other than that it is OK. It doesn’t stretch much so depending on your needs that COULD be an issue. I wouldn’t buy this product unless you or your child have a SMALL head. Sorry.

Thin and dries quick, just enough to keep in some heat if it’s cold but breathes well so works under paintball mask well stuff like that. Worth the money. I don’t expect it to last forever for the price but it’s exceeded expectations for sure(I use to be a name brand guy)
