SimpliSafe 10 Piece Wireless Home Alarm System with Motion Sensor, HD Security Camera and Outdoor Siren - Home Security Systems with Optional Monitoring and No Contracts

Having researched other wireless home security systems, I opted for simplisafe for price and reading good reviews initially. Everything came carefully packed and just felt good quality. The system came with a installation manual ( surprisingly), or you can follow the very easy to follow step by step installation via the simplisafe app*, I had my system up and running in less than 2hrs. Tips, plan beforehand where you want your sensors and door contacts, it helps speed up the install process. *If your going to install using the app, check your mobile phone is able to accept the simlisafe app download, mine phone was not because it was a few years old,so I used my wife's more current iPhone. You are not obliged to opt for the monitoring package subscription if you don't want , but can opt in at a later date. We are really pleased with this system, and I would fully recommend you consider this system if your thinking of upgrading or installing for the first time.

Fantastic system that’s very easy to install, no issues with battery life after 6 months. Very easy to connect and no loss of connection. Alarm triggers consistently with motion / door openings. Makes my family feel very safe.

Excellent product, lots of add one available. Took less than 20 mins to install basics. But... Pick your service package from the start, for me upgrading caused glitches. Staff sorted it and were incredibly helpful and technically sound. Also cameras a bit harder, needs a smartphone app, and be sure to have them near the base station to pair with system before installing, and definitely check for software updates before installing them. If you do these then they are quite impressive. You need a good WiFi signal and you will need to charge the internal outdoor batteries for about 8 hours. Night vision and sensors for movement really decent. We have 4 cats and they have not set off the ir sensors at all yet, but watch the settings and placement, the instructions are clear and sensible. Handy chime when alarm off to announce protected doors etc being opened, internal camera has privacy shutter for "at home" setting. Lots of optional plug ins, including smoke alarm, water leak and temperature sensors and panic buttons. If twinned with full service package the security staff can (with your consent) check the cameras, spot the problem and direct correct emergency services having confirmed real incident. Also nice to be able to check cameras from the app, and get alerts of motion etc to check complete with video clips. Had a laugh at a helpful Amazon delivery driver who left parcels in the waterproof cat house pod in the garden and clearly found the cat "pod" highly amusing.

SimpliSafe products look great and are very easy to install. With the premium monitoring subscription, they provide a reassuring sense of security. However, the cameras are disappointing — the network range is weak (a £20 camera at the back of my garden performed better), and the connection is often unreliable. Video isn't my main concern, but if it's important to you, I wouldn't recommend this solution.

Great alarm , easy to setup

Having purchased this system for over £300 on the 13th Dec 2022, I failed to meet the return date of 13th Jan 2023 which all my subsequent experience would have been my choice. I consider it should made clear to prospective purchasers that the system is really based on the user taking out a monitoring plan which I assume would make operation more stable. Fixing the system was not a problem and the sensors worked fine but be sure take the monitoring plans into account! The cost for monitoring and also finding 3 friends who would be happy to be woken up in the middle of the night, are two of the reasons why my system has become a costly and time consuming experience.

Review after first night with new alarm. You do NOT need wifi!! Only if you wish to use cameras. Important for people who have just moved into a property and have no wifi yet. Can have everything notify you via the app and see the status of your alarm. Bought 4 piece & then add ons seperately as this works out cheaper. 2 monthly payments, £13 or £20, see people complain about the price but guarantee they have a phone they pay £50+ for a month and dont want to pay £20 to protect their home...... Very easy to install, everything is stick on but can also screw in aswell which i reccomend to prevent any false alarms. Very easy to use, had the keypad, base station, siren, motion detection &x2 entry sensors installed in less than an hour. Will be buying more entry & motion sensors as well. Can not reccomend this product enough for people who move often, rent & dont want to lose that hideous deposit or people who like 'smart' devices.
