Q: Is it possible to buy the middle section separately? I want to expand the set I already have.

I ordered mine from an electronics shop. I would assume you would have to purchase a whole separate unit. Funny thing is, the middle and top sections are all i have left of mine. Personally i would recommend investing in the DeWalt tough box system, or the newer Bosch organizers. I didn't have very good luck with this one holding up to daily abuse.

Q: Can somebody tell the interior dimensions of the bottom box? I need to store one 12x12x6 and one 14x14x3 containers. Thanks

You can store both. However, this cart is CRAP! Very cheap flimsy material that breaks easily. I am only using the top tool box section with the middle drawers section at this time cause the chest has fallen apart so much. The pull handle broke within 2-3 months. Finally the hinge that holds the drawer section to the bottom part that you're talking about broke and I could no longer use the wheel section. I just carry it by the top toolbox handle now. There is another Metal one same color on Group On that I saw that is probably more stable. This thing is CRAP! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

The helmet, 100ft cord/leads, nor the machine itself wont fit inside the compartments. However, your tools used for welding can fit nicely. You can wrap the 100ft leads around the handle that sticks up at the back, and you can also hang your helmet in that handle. Im assuming this is a 90 amp welder, so its probably compact and light. You may be able to store the welder on top and secure it with bungee cords. I use it for my auto paint stuff I managed to fit all the tools I need in it with a little modifications. A welding cart is more appropriate, but takes up more space and is heavier. With this you can haul most of what you need in a 12"D X 24"W footprint.
