Round Waxed Dress Shoe laces with Metal Tips

My dress shoe laces broke, and so after a bit of searching I found FINTOCO. I really just needed regular dress shoe laces, but I was so into all of the color choices that I did end up getting the gold tips on my black laces. The laces themselves feel very solid and look very good with my nicest pair of shoes. They undoubtedly look better than the laces they came with. The gold adds a nice little touch as well. I will definitely be adding more colors to my dress shoes and other shoes over time, to add a little uniqueness and color in a way that pops, but most people don't think about. Every detail from the build quality of the laces, to the tips, right down to the packaging, really shows a care and attention to detail in craftsmanship and presentation that I really dig.

I never thought I'd get excited about shoe laces but these laces are something special. I purchased a pair for my Frey oxfords and loved them so much I bought 2 more pair in different colors. They really dress up some otherwise boring shoes. I can't tell you how many compliments I've had from men and women. I especially like the silver (or gold) tips. They really are a great finishing touch. If your looking for an inexpensive way to add some real style to your wardrobe, polish your shoes, put on a spiffy pair of socks and lace up with a pair of these beauties. You won't be disappointed!

These shoelaces add a really nice touch to my shoes. They really seem to pop. The packaging was also pretty high quality. Unfortunately they don't stay tied quite like my old laces. Same knot and everything that I used to do. The price was also a little steep. Update: I have noticed that after a few months of daily wear, the color has started to fade, but that is to be expected especially for red. The end caps are still well attached, so I'm still happy with the overall quality.

The quality is there but a few things to know. 1.) slightly thicker than eyeholes for “good” dress shoes. If the eyeholes have grommets in the back, you’ll be fine. 2.) not as waxed as other Fintoco laces. Be sure to study the pictures and descriptions carefully. I’ve bought several Fintoco laces recently, and I’m impressed. You’re not going to find a better lace. Also, I’d recommend their multipack: great color choices! While it may skew a little twee to have different color laces than shoes, it’s the little things, right?

Ordered three pairs of these (black, charcoal grey, aqua), which arrived together on time via Prime. The material seems like good quality: slightly stretchy for a good knot but not too much, waxed for longevity but not stiff. However, for a premium product two things need to be _much_ better. 1) I ordered 34" laces, but each of the six laces--including each lace of each pair--were different lengths. 2) The color on the "charcoal grey" was actually medium-light grey. They sent the correct product; it was just a bad dye job. Having done home dying myself, I can appreciate dark/charcoal grey is hard to create. It's not the same as a faded black, and it takes work to get the depth. I also understand the wax inevitably lightens the color a bit. But the aqua was also quite pale, and the black not-quite black. These aren't huge quibbles, except that for $12/pair the quality control should be much better. If it's a finishing touch, then these basics need to be right, consistently. I'm happy to support small business, but there are too many "high end," mostly-online, companies not delivering in this regard. Less attention to the packaging, more attention to the actual product, please.

**January 24, 2019 Update - I originally purchased these laces in June of 2017 and they are still in amazing shape. I polish Mr. MVP's shoes every month and take the laces out each time. The laces have softened significantly with wear, but they show no signs of fraying or breaking. Mr. MVP is unbelievably hard on his shoes. He does not avoid puddles and during the Michigan winter he walks straight through the snow instead of around it. I did just order two new pairs because I got brown polish all over the laces with an overzealous polish brush. I'm going to try throwing the laces in the washing machine once the new laces arrive and see if they survive the experience. Again - do not hesitate to buy these laces - they have great colors and they last forever. We went through a year period of ordering and re-ordering wax shoelaces for Mr. MVP’s dress shoes that promised to be tough and long lasting, but each pair only lasted five months and then died. I finally splurged on the Fintoco laces before he left for a work conference last year so his shoes would be in top shape while he was on stage and then quickly forgot about his shoelaces until this morning when I just started to get his gear around for the same conference and realized I have not purchased him new shoelaces in a full year. The Fintoco laces look almost brand new and Mr. MVP is hard on his shoes so that is saying something. These laces have seen a full Michigan winter and spring and have not had a day off in a year. I took them out of his shoes so I could polish them and was pleasantly surprised at how good they still look. When he needs new laces in another couple years we will definitely be ordering these.

I generally wait a little while before making a determination of the value, and how I write my reviews. After about six weeks I'm really unhappy with these. I don't think these laces stay tied any better than two dollar ones. These shoelaces are fine if the little gold do-dads on the tips are what you want for style. However, if you bought these waxed laces thinking they would stay tied, you're going to be disappointed as I am.

Product came quickly and as expected. The laces have a weight and thickness that make me believe they'll stand up well over time. As pictured, the tips have a metal finish that give it a very nice touch. I purchased white laces and the colour is perfect. No off white tints or yellowing. The laces have gone on to golf shoes, which might see more aggressive use than a standard dress shoe but less frequent wearing. So far they've done well. The vendor reached out after my order to ensure I was happy with the product and even sent me a follow up. Truly outstanding customer service and someone who stands behind their products. Would purchase from them again purely because of this.

Sturdy laces but slightly shorter than expected.

I ordered my first pair in November 2017, I'm now ordering another pair almost 2 years later. These are good quality and nice touch with the metal tips. Length is good and certainly better than other blue laces I ordered on Amazon.
