Milani Gilded Coast Eyeshadow Palette - 15 Colors Highly Pigmented Eyeshadow Makeup Kit

I kind of regret purchasing this palette. I was hesitant to purchase it at first because I could see its limitations, lack of shade range (light, mid-tone/brights, dark) and versatility (as a result of the shade range) being a few of them. However, it’s a niche item, focusing on the “ember” theme, so I cut it some slack and bought the item. I really loved Milani’s Everyday Eyes in 01 Must Have Naturals, which reminded me of Natasha Denona eyeshadows with regards to texture, pigmentation, and ease of blending at a fraction of the prestige cost, so I thought I’d just give Gilded Ember a go.Upon receiving the item, I was actually a bit disappointed that the eyeshadow palette itself seemed cheap-feeling. It feels like it should belong at Walmart (where Gilded Violet and Gilded Emerald are being released) and not at Target, if you know what I mean. The cover of the palette, which looks glittery in most of the online photos is not glittery at all. I don’t know how to describe it besides just saying that it looks like someone cut out pieces of magazine and stuck pieces onto the palette. I also didn’t like the scratchy texture it had. As most palettes are, this one is held closed by magnetization. Once opened, there is a decent sized mirror on the “lid.”So, here comes the real tea: the swatching. Are these eyeshadows pigmented? Yeah, all except maybe Phoenix and Golden Hour, which seem just a tiny bit chalky. Are some almost too pigmented? Yeah, I would say that the obvious— Pyro— is almost pigmented to a fault. I think there’s a fine balance between giving people pigmented shadows they can layer on and blend out (goof proof) and giving them a shadow that’s so pigmented that it has a small margin of error. I would also say that some of the shadows feel rough to swatch. Rose Ember felt extremely rough, more like pressed glitter? Ignite was also not as smooth as the other pigments.I can’t comment on fall-out at this time, because I haven’t worn them yet. However, I will provide an update when I have done a wear test. I am predicting that the bolder reds will stain my lids, but I feel that is common among other bold palettes.I have included photos of the palette, as well as my finger swatches (didn’t feel like doing brush swatches), taken in indirect sunlight, direct sunlight, indoors, and in yellow indoor lighting. I tried to post photos that were as true to color as I could. The pyro in photos looks a bit more coral toned, but in reality it’s more of a true red. Would I recommend this palette to others? Not really.

The palette arrived an hour ago and I've already packaged it to return. The shades don't match the photo. Highlighters are quite glittery, not glowy. The matte shadows are nice, but very dusty. The glittery shadows look gorgeous in the palette but the glitter flies all over when it's being applied. Dry brush, damp brush, doesn't matter. When I finished there was shadow dust all over the palette, so you know you will never get a true color application due to the shades mixing. I was really looking forward to this but the colors and quality are not satisfactory to me.

I LOVE this palette! I don’t like to spend a ton of money on makeup, so I thought I’d take a chance on this palette, since it’s such a good price. I’m so glad I did! The shades are so pigmented and there are several that are shiny and look amazing. I’ve had several people ask me what eyeshadow I’m wearing, that’s how good the colors look. They last my whole 12 hour shift, too! I love the warm golds and nudes in this palette, and that some pinks and purples are included as well. I never get sick of these colors, and they are perfect for every day wear. Such a good value! If you love pigmented eyeshadows but don’t like to spend a fortune on them just to get good quality, this palette is for you!

The palette is smaller than it appeared online. However the colors work amazingly. I am so pleased with this palette and greens are my absolute favorite colors!

Love this palette! I've been able to create soooo many different looks from peachy to nude to golden. The shadows are highly pigmented, and they blend like a DREAM! NO FALL OUT! This is my new everyday palette, and I grab for it daily. I usually go for luxury make up, but this is definitely luxury make up at drug store prices. Rivals the best for sure.

I absolutely love Milani so when I saw this I was so excited to order it! When it arrived it looked beautiful but swatched not so well. The shadows applied patchy on my primed lids and the color faded off by the end of the day. The shimmers are very lack luster and I had to dig in the pan to get anything from them. I had such high hopes for this and it just wasn’t there.

Okay I got this on prime deal days and I find it to be a great pallet for some of the photos I do for my work , the colors are bright and vivid on my very pale skin and I don't have to use a lot. I have always enjoyed the different pallets from this company as it's one of the few make-up companies I'm not allergic too. I love the boldness of this pallet and I have used it with other ones I have by them for different and fun looks! I can't wait to try the other two new ones. I would say these are more specialty pallets and are great for dramatic affect but since I love that type of thing I wear these colors out and have a great time and always get compliments on any of the Milani make-up I use. First off I'd like to say that even being bubble wrapped I received a broken pallet... Not happy about that. Moving on, the pigment lacks quite a bit which was disappointing I typically like Milani products. But this pallet was extremely dusty... And not near as colored as I was hoping. When I opened it from the package one of the trays were cracked all the way across so the powder ended up in other trays.

I had used this product twice. At first didn't really like it but now I've used another brush for it. It looks wonderful. Using the correct brush for different eye shadows is very important. It's a lovely pallete in all. Would love to try others as well.
