Great gift
Great gift for kids who are just beginners in chess or even for those who know already how to play. It is easy to learn and fun to play.

Fun game ; Kid approve
My kids absolutely loved playing this game. It combines physical moving pieces with an app.I was looking for a game where my oldest can practice their skills while introducing and teaching those skills to their younger siblings and this is it .You have to download the app onto your iPad . You can create multiple profiles depending on grade, playing experience and difficulty. There are avatars that they can choose to personalize their profile , so we were pleasantly pleased to see a brown princess as an option. Thank you for that. The game pieces are beautifully detailed. They are about 1-2inch in height and made of rubber. Super handy when a toddler takes and throws a piece. This can be a single or two-player interactive game. There is audio instructions for the very beginner. A small history lesson about Chess, step-by-step instructions about each individual piece and its moves and many gaming options. The interactive game gives hints on where to move your next piece. When a piece is taken/defeated , there is small clip/movie showing its demise. They had a kick watching it and the look of the characters. This is definitely a quality game and we are happy to add it to our collection. The only thing that I would add is an option for a carrying case . This is a game that I won’t mind screen time and it would be easy to take to grandma’s.

Worth 0 stars
I bought this for a Christmas present for my granddaughter and decided it would be better to wait to give it to her. After playing 1 time with it myself to see how it worked ( at it was ok, operatged just fine) I packed it back up and placed it in a closet. Now, I brought it back out on her visit here several months later. After trying it on 2 new kindles ( one I bought JUST for her to have for this game) the game WILL NOT play. I keep getting a "can't find server" error. Every other electgronic device in my home is working off my wi-fi. DO NOT BUY GAMES FROM THIS COMPANY. I am one who does not write negative reviews. I write 5 star reviews or none at all. This company puts out such shoddy product I can not sit still and allow others to buy this. I am so glad I did not give this as a Christmas gift. Such a disappointment. TACTO, do a better job.

TACTO Chess - Engaging and good for kids to learn chess for the first time
The media could not be loaded. Review from my daughter who had tried regular chess in the past and had given up - now she is playing with me after trying out TACTO Chess - totally worth it :)----Liked the Themes and wanted a few more.Liked talking characters - very engaging. Can be improved - sensitivity of the chess piece interaction with the screen.

My niece loves it.
My niece is 7 almost 8 I got her this for Christmas and according to my brother she loves playing chess with it. She is getting much better at it. She will play a few rounds with her sister and her parents and then play the computer to get better.

Better for younger ages
I got this since my son is interested in Chess , it was cool at first but it’s not fast , it feels like a whole tutorial when playing it. Better for younger learners for all the reminders and talking and pausing it does . My son is 9, does so it just was taking too much time then playing it .

Fun way for kids to learn about how to play chess
I bought this for my 6yrs old kid and she loves it. It provides some learning tools for kid to learn how to play chess. With cute animation in the app, I believe it is interesting enough to keep kid's attention.

A great app for younger and older children!
Our Tacto chess arrived last weekend and I’m even more impressed than I expected to be. The figurines are a really good size for little hands and seem very well made. The app actually teaches the child how to play chess so no parental knowledge is needed - this was brilliant for me. The themes are great for making the game child friendly. My little one isn’t actually 6 yet and still enjoyed playing it. The only thing to keep in mind for younger children is that there is a little bit of reading, for example ‘your king will be checked’ but I wouldn’t let this put you off getting the app if your child is less than 6. I’m already looking to see which app to get next!

Great purchase for 7 & 10 year old
I am so happy with this purchase. My 10 year old knew a little about chess and my 7 year old knew nothing. This was a great game that explains all the rules (no parent knowledge needed) and you can play games with the computer or another person. What I love is that when you pick a piece to move, it shows the potential ways you can move. Would purchase again!

Great Introduction to Chess
We’ve introduced a good variety of games to my kids and have several of Shifu’s excellent learning apps so decided to give this as try when it was on sale. We’ve only done the introduction of all the pieces and how to use them, but it’s been great so far.Introductions follow basic movement and then trial play with the piece so kids get a solid understanding of how the different pieces work. The voice work and graphic are well done and entertaining and my 7 year old liked it.Only minor negative was learning to use the supplied pieces took a little getting used to . Tap once in your starting square and a yellow box goes around your piece then you move.I have a lot more to explore on the app, but happy so far.Bottom line: fun and engaging way to learn chess.
