My Favorite Piece of Jewelry!
I know these beads have various religious uses, and as a Christian I may use them to aid in meditation and prayers of gratitude, but I primarily purchased them for aesthetic purposes. I adore wood! The necklace is as good or better than the product image! Absolutely gorgeous variously textured and colored sandalwood. My husband loves it and so does my 8 month old son who immediately wanted to play with them as soon as I put them on. The 8mm is the perfect size. I'm ordering another so I have a back up in case something happens to the first one I ordered, LOVE it! Highly recommend!

Made right!
If you have long hair and are tired of mala beads that get your hair stuck in them, then this is for you. This necklace is strung tight, making moving from one bead to the next so easy. You can focus on your breathing and meditating, which is the whole point. At this price, you can't go wrong.

just what I was expecting
I am very happy with this bracelet - it is just as nice as I was hoping for. I spent a lot of time browsing through Mala bracelets before deciding on this one. I always read reviews - especially one-star reviews - and noticed how many people complained about 1) the length of the bracelet, 2) having the bracelet fall apart after a short time, and 3) the beads not being real wood and/or causing a rash. (But it's possible I'm confusing reviews for this product with similar products; however the reviews for all the bracelets I looked at had similar comments.) I would point out: 1) The length of the bracelet is determined by the size and number of the beads. Mala bracelets have 108 beads, and at 6mm per bead, all 108-bead bracelets are going to be almost identical in size, unless they have a knot between each bead, which I have not seen in a Mala bracelet because they are strung on elastic. My solution to the awkward size is pictured - it's a comfortable solution, and if I have to put my hands in water or otherwise have them free & clear, I just roll the bracelet up my arm under the elbow until I can put it back in place. 2) As far as the elastic knots not staying tied, mine look quite secure, but as with all such things, it's a good idea to keep an eye on it - especially at first. If the main knot looks like it's coming loose, put a drop or two of fabric glue on it, and if the end knots looks like they're coming loose, pull them tight and if necessary add a second knot to ensure they are secure. and 3) My bracelet contains beautiful, multi-colored wood beads, each unique according to the wood it came from. There doesn't appear to be any chemical residue on them, nor have they caused my arm to itch or otherwise exhibit any undesirable effects from contact with the bracelet. One last comment to people who are quick to label an item as "trash" or "not worth the money", I always consider whether or not I could produce the product myself, and if I could, how much work would it take? In the case of 108 6mm beads strung on a piece of elastic & securely knotted in a decorative tie, I could not produce this, which makes the cost reasonable for me. And again, I'm happy with my purchase. Update 7/26/23 - while I remain satisfied with my purchase, one of the ends of the elastic DID unknot itself a few days after I started wearing the bracelet. Luckily, I noticed it before any of the beads got lost and re-tied the knot. I dropped the rating from 5 to 4 stars due to this issue.

These are outstanding
It looks great! AND, it's functional, which for some (me) is an added benefit. The little "silver" guru bead doo-dad is a little odd but not a deal breaker. If I recall, these are more of the Tibetan type of large mala...in that it has 111 beads (which some of us like) INCLUDING the 3 spacer beads. So, obviously, it's 108 NOT counting the spacers...making them more "traditional" for some. I happen to like having, and counting, the spacer beads because it keeps me from getting lost and/or to compensate for errors. ;-) Regardless, purchase these and I doubt you will be disapointed.

Do it.
They're pretty cool, I'd buy them again. I've read a few reviews complaining they lose color after being wet, so heads up they do dry out after being wet, as all wood does. Simple fix, put a few drops of essential oil in your hands and rub the beads between them. Not only do you smell nice but the oils are restored back to the beads. I've bought several sets of these for friends and family and still have my original, its retired now though lol. As most things, take care of it and it'll last.

Cool Necklace for mediation!
I like this bracelet, I have used it to meditate a few times and it helps. I wish I used it more but haven’t been disciplined. I sometimes like to Wear it as a necklace. It wasn’t expensive.

I absolutely love this wooden japa mala. It is beautifully crafted and feels very special to use during meditation. The quality is excellent, and it came with the correct number of beads (108), which is essential for my practice. The wood has a natural, calming feel, and the mala is both beautiful and well made. Considering the quality, the price is very reasonable. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and well-crafted japa mala.

Product has nothing to do with the description and photos. Received 2 different very poor and unmatchung beads. A very poor bag and packaging. Returned it immediately.

Came in a lovely unmarked black box. The bag with the logo is not my taste (nice to have though) but the bracelet itself is beautifully made, the beads smell nice and the knot is a cool touch. Was a gift and I’m pleased as was the recipient. The different colours of beads make it more interesting and looks nice as a bracelet coordinates with different outfits.

This is my second time purchasing. I love mine so much I've ordered a second set to gift my friend. Real wood. Definitely some beads are dyed though. It will come off on your skin for the first bit but washes away quickly. Don't swim or shower with your mala. People complain about it losing its luster after being put in water. Do, however, wash them every so often with a mild soap and water bath, then pat dry and oil them to prevent splitting. Coconut oil with a drop of essential oil will have them shining again and will carry a lovely scent. I wear mine daily and do this once a week to rid them of buildup like sunscreen or body lotion. Bonus is, as you oil them you can also say your prayers/intentions.
