This is a pretty old model and it’s still one of the best
This is a pretty old model and it’s still one of the best. It has 3 modes—2 with auto-stabilization and expert, which enables acro mode. Acro mode isn’t much good without adjustable rates and amazingly this product allows you to program your own custom rates for each flight mode. It’s still one of the best quads available for new flyers who want a product that they can grow into. So far I haven’t burnt out a motor(knock on wood) and one of the props needed to be balanced out of the box which is no big deal. The flight times are not quite as long as advertised but 1s red jst batteries are dime a dozen. If you want the pro experience you can easily mount a $20 AIO camera to the canopy and decent goggles can be had for around $50.

It is really hard for me to tell you how fun and how easy the Alias is to fly
I have had the Alias 24 hours and I'm flying around the house a few crashes, before I have had two of those mico helicopters I had to work two fly them. I do think that my ease of flying my Alias is 10% is from what I learned flying the mico's. But the 90% is the Alias, read the instructions and let the Alias put a smile on your face. I will have a followup in a week and then a month. It is really hard for me to tell you how fun and how easy the Alias is to fly. I guess you will just have to get your own and see for yourself.

Battery life is disappointing
The battery last around 5 minutes. The controller is simple, but nice size. The lights are neat. The battery life ruins it for me. I expected atleast 20-30 minutes for the price.

Not as durable as I'd hoped but still FUN!
Bought this for Christmas for my 12 year old son who absolutely LOVED it and used it nonstop for a week ... until the teeth on the gears that turn the rotor blades started to break off. Other websites billed this drone as durable enough for beginner drone pilots but maybe they didn't have a 12 year old boy in mind :) On the flip side, finding replacement parts was a breeze and my son had his drone fixed in about 20 minutes. I like this product and recommend you purchase replacement gears right away so this super fun toy doesn't sit on the shelf. BTW, the back page of the instruction manual has a diagram showing all the drone's parts and their corresponding part number, so figuring out what you need is easy. I bought my parts on the Hobby Lobby website with $1.50 flat rate shipping.

Pretty excited to get it out and fly it
Never owned a drone before. Pretty excited to get it out and fly it. I managed to break it on the first flight. It states virtually indestructible, well I had to order replacement spur gears. I will say between the crashing and trying to avoid hitting things it is fun. I can't blame the broken part on the ma fractures, I ha e to blame it on my flying skill.
