Helps with my grief
I lost my husband 4 years ago. I saw this book and thought it sounded interesting. I read a passage every night before bed and find it comforting and thought provoking. I really am loving it and how it helps me sleep at night.

Really helpful
This book was really helpful to get through some grief and loss. I felt it was inspiring and what I needed on some days. I appreciate the author recognized families that helped inspire with their experiences and stories.

Beautifully written and illustrated book of liturgy.
Douglas Mckelvey is a gifted writer with an amazing capacity to bring liturgy to life. When I am at a loss for words in prayer or in worship I often turn to one of his Every Moment Holy volumes for inspiration.Adding to the the book is the perfect complement of Ned Bustards illustrations. If you are looking for a complement to your prayer and thought life, pick up all three volumes in this series.

Helpsnyou find words when you dont know what to say
Love this series. When you cant find the words you can find a pray by topic to help guide you in your own prayers. I wish they came in real leather binding , but these are fine.

A Book to Help with Lamenting Moments
This is a very helpful book when the words aren’t there to lament circumstances that are painful to the soul. Definitely a source that can be used individually or with a group. This book has helped me in my journey of losing my wife to cancer.

Wonderful Ministry Resource
Every Moment Holy Vol. II by Douglas Kaine McKelvey focuses on Death, Grief, and Hope. I was not familiar with McKelvey’s work before my introduction to this volume, but find myself very pleased for the exposure to his work and heart. Clearly, the volume is about subjects we’d all like to avoid and yet are always inevitably exposed to in the midst of a fallen and hard world. Because we seek to avoid these topics, we often don’t know what to think or say when we must face them ourselves or a friend or loved one faces them. It is a blessing that McKelvey has not avoided the topics and has instead given devotion to them. Just this week I received a call from a friend whose wife is now facing cancer. I was taken aback by the surprise of the call. As I read through McKelvey’s thoughts in “For the Morning of a Medical Procedure,” I found just the right words to share before her upcoming surgery. As one reflects back on many moments of ministry in the midst of tragedy while reading this work, one finds thoughts and meditations that would have been comforting in those moments and will be helpful when they inevitably show their face again on the path of ministry. I purchased the pocket-sized edition and it is the perfect size to carry along that pastoral path. I recommend this resource and am confident you will also be grateful to McKelvey and his work a blessing.
