Q: Why is this selling for $30 when the msrp price is $12.95? this is not out of print.

This game is not worth $30. It should be sold at its retail price. I bought it at the local game store for $13. The seller on Amazon is charging more than double the price!

Q: Does Age of War involve any strategy, or is it completely based on luck?

It mainly luck but there is some strategy on the way you place the dice because you can only call and place one kind of dice per roll. It is very similar to Vegas the Board Game that way. It is fun and a great filler.

Q: How does the Solo Variant work?

The setup is like if you played a normal game, you will just need a die or pen and paper. You play the game with life points, you start with 3, the purpose of a die or pen and paper is to track your life points. When you fail to conquer a CASTLE you lose 1 LP, and if you conquer a CLAN you gain 1 LP. If you have 0 LP and you fail to conquer a CASTLE you lose a die permanently, and if you conquer a CLAN and you don't have all of your dice you get one back. The game ends if you have no way to obtain a castle or you conquer all. If you get them all consider yourself very lucky.
