These are not rat traps.
These are great mouse traps, but they are most definitely not rat traps. They are too small. All you will do is catch a rat by the nose if you use these.

work great
Have caught 4 rats and 2 mice so far. Work great. I use swedish berries. They work awesome as they don't dry out. Little sensitive to set sometimes. Other than that 2 thumbs up.

High defect rate
I placed these traps into service immediately upon receipt. Three of them self-triggered within a couple hours of having been set. I reset each one, and then reset each of them again and again. After 3 or 4 resets, I accepted that they were defective and introduced them to my garbage.I have been using this same type of trap to trap scores of rats. Since I purchase the less expensive ones, I accept that one out of six, or even two out of six, may be defective and self-trigger (not always, but it does not surprise me if one or two are defective). However, three out of six that are immediately defective is just too many, and even though I purchased this traps for an excellent price, I ended up paying twice as much as I intended (and that assumes that none ofhe others also proves to be defective and start self-triggering in the next few days).I note that the Company commented regarding several reviews identifying the same defect by indicating that maybe it was a problem from storage. I assume the Company is talking about its own storage (I didn’t store mine for more that a couple minutes before putting them into service, as I’m guessing most of the reviewers did). I cannot grasp what the Company thinks happened. Is it saying that these were manufactured long ago, before being sold? Even if that were so, it seems highly unlikely that would have been the cause of the defect. Rather, the defect is a manufacturing defect affecting the tolerances in the simple parts that hold the trap in place awaiting to be triggered. Since the tolerances are sufficiently off, the parts cannot resist the pressure of the spring and not long after being set, the pressure of the spring causes the release of the trap. I guess it really doesn’t matter, at least 50 percent were defective regardless of the Company’s explanation, but stating that it possibly the effect of storage rather than just saying, sorry about that (or blaming it on the more likely source, a problem with the manufacturing), is a bit irritating. I will not knowingly purchase this brand again since it appears that it will continue to sell this product without curing the real problem.

Killed 3 in 2 days!
Good price, set 6 traps Monday, caught a chipmunk by midday; caught another Tuesday morning & a vole also.I have only had luck catching chipmunks when you crazy glue a peanut into the bottom, otherwise, you're just feeding them.So far, nothing on Wednesday - I know I have another one, saw him running down the path. My property, no freeloaders, mwah, ha, ha!

MUST READ IF CONSIDERING!!
We recently moved into a new housing development with a lot of construction around the surrounding areas and to our surprise we have a hoard of fruit rats running along our walls and streets! I searched and searched for the best traps and let me tell you, I was not let down by these! I purchased the box of 6 and set up three, to see if they would work, I put two by the opening in the bottom of our cinder block fence (this is where I saw the first one) so I decided to put one WITH peanut butter inside the cup on each side of the opening and TWO days later, after these smart super fast little rodents used the information super highway (top of wall) to avoid them, they still could NOT resist the peanut butter even though they prefer fruit. HOWEVER the ONLY thing I would pre-warn you is that these traps do NOT kill them right away! I attached a video and a photo for you to watch. I put the rodent out of its misery and double bagged it and put it in its final resting place-THE TRASH!
