Berard23474 French Olive-Wood Handcrafted Jam Spoon

I was trying to replace my mother's wooden spoon. It is very old but such a delicate smaller spoon that was always my go to spoon for stirring the oatmeal etc when a large salad or mixing spoon is too big. I almost gave up until I found this Berard Jam spoon. It is a lovely crafted spoon that is nearly a twin to what my mother had. It is easy to maintain its warm luster by following the instructions and rubbing a small bit of food grade mineral oil(like Jasco Butcher Block Oil)after hand washing. Do not put this in the dish washer: the hot water and drying heat will destroy the finish.I am very happy with this purchase and based on this spoon, I am considering buying more in the Berard Line.

Would love it, but delivered with a chunk out of the wood, so it couldn’t be used as a gift

I own lots of silicone spatulas and they are good at getting a bowl clean when baking etc, but don't quite do as good a job at getting the last bits of food from the bottom of a jar. This long handled spoon does! It exceeded my expectations, it gets everything from around the rim of the jar with its pointed tip and the bottom and the smooth sides help it to get whatever food is left on the side of the jar. It is now one of my essentials in the kitchen!

my second one of these. VERY nice long handle, so you can retrieve jam/jelly out of the jar without having to acquire sticky fingers in the process. beautiful, and a coat of mineral oil every 6 months or so keeps the wood gorgeous for years.

With a good figure!But maybe useless compared with the one made of stainless steel or ceramic.
