I always buy sport-related products from PROIRON, and they’ve all been great. This 1L bottle is sturdy, lightweight, and easy to carry. The size is perfect for daily hydration tracking. I even recommend this brand to my friends — really reliable quality and great value for fitness lovers.

My second ion8 1L bottle just gave up (the spring for the catch broke), but I've used it non-stop for two years so have no problems with it really. I woudl have bought another ion8 bottle, but I think they have ditched the carrying strap for solid plastic finger loops. I don't like those so tried to find something as close as possible to the ion8 with a carrying strap. If you're comparing to ion8 read to the end where I talk more about that, but for everyone else who wants a review of the Proiron, here it is... My criteria were a quality 1L leakproof bottle in BPA free plastic. There are now loads of those on Amazon of course... I was not bothered about fruit infusers (I'm happy to drink plain tap water). I also didn't one in My Little Pony rainbow colours and didn't need moronic motivational messages about how I'm "Doing Great!" because I've taken a sip of water. The Proiron seemed to fit the bill. I could only get red in 1L at the time I bought it, but it's a good colour with a lovely finish which feels nice in your hand. I checked mine for leaks (but only quickly mind as having had an identical bottle before I know they are leakproof as long as the seals are OK and there's no limescale buildup). LIke all these bottles, one press of the button flips open the lid so it's easy to use one-handed. There's a catch which can lock the lid closed if you're putting it in a bag or whatever where the button could get knocked accidentally. No smell, no funny taste to the water. THis bottle has markings for how much water there is in the bottle but thankfully no patronising slogans. The branding is relatively discreet and adult looking and thankfully has no indeciperable Chinglish proverbs :-) The strap on this is long enough for a man to get his hand through and hold the bottle (my old one was not). I take a medium - large glove, but my hands are also fairly slim. Compared to ion8... I'm delighted to report that the Proiron is IDENTICAL to the ion8 I had with one improvement - that longer strap. My only criticism of the ion8 was that the strap was not long enough to put a hand through and then hold the bottle. It's like they read my review and made it for me. When I say identical, I mean just that. I've bought ones that looked similar in pictures in the past only to find that the materials and construction were poor when it arrived. This even has the same numbers moulded into parts of the lid etc and the print of the pattern on the strap is the same. My ion8 spare seals will fit it too.
