Exceptional pen in terms of craftsmanship
Despite the conflicting reviews I come across, I can honestly express my admiration for the Deluxe Plume (F-nib). This is an exceptional pen in terms of craftsmanship, comparable in precision only to the Waterman Carene (because it is of a similar type). The F-nib is 14K gold and very smooth (something between F-M with Pelikan and 1:1 with Waterman Carene "F"). In some forums you may come across complaints that the so-called baby's bottom effect occurs in certain specimens. Forget it — there is no such thing with this nib, and besides, even if you don't write for many days, the ink comes right through. With more pronounced pressure, the pen becomes pleasantly juicy and leaves beautiful and contrasting shadows. Filled with Diamine "Jack Frost" ink, the effect is striking! The cap is very chic and stays well secured without wobbling and so the balance is well measured even when writing for long periods. Many argue whether the pen should have screwed on or kept the original way of closing the cap. I use the old model, too, and I can share that I'm much happier in this modern form because most of my pens work in a similar way and I'm used to the unscrewing, but that's completely subjective. The Deluxe 51 comes with a big and beautiful box (no unnecessary booklets), two ink refills - black and blue, and a converter! I've read reviews commenting that the nib is the same as the Parker Jotter. I suppose for the regular series that may be true, but in this case such a comparison may not be happening at all because I have the Jotter as well, so I'm sharing from my own experience. The Jotter is also a nice pen, please don't get me wrong I'm being condescending, but the Deluxe 51 is unique and will not disappoint. Highly recommended. _______ Just to add: There are comments on the internet that the Jinhao 85 is identical to this model and the barrel is replaceable. Not exactly. The Jinhao 85 section can be put on the Parker barrel, but not the other way around. And I don't see the point of such a Frankenstein, given that Parker's gold nib is superb. Maybe such combinations are permissible with a 51s steel nib, but with the Deluxe series it's downright sacrilege and masochism.

Worth every penny
Wanted one of these all my life since my Doctor used one back in the 50s. It is now my 24/7 pen, so smooth, so good so lovely.

A beautiful pen, but…..
This is a beautiful pen, however, be warned that the F gold nib is quite broad and more like a M. For what it is worth, the cheaper models with F steel nibs are much finer. Reluctantly, I exchanged for one of these. My handwriting is quite small and the nib width is important to me, however if your writing is average to large in size you will love the gold F nib. The very dark plum colour is very attractive and goes well with the gold cap and trim. In all other respects, these are lovely pens, superior in many ways to the original 51.

Good quality!
Very comfortable to write with, and the pen has a reliable and even flow of ink. I recommend this good looking and functioning Parker fountain pen!

Poor quality and abysmal customer service
Gold plating on the cap discoloured when the pen was stored in the presentation box. Parker refused to help despite the fact the pen was never used as I missed their "warranty" period by literally three weeks.

A very good 'faux' Parker 51...
Lets be blunt its not as good as the original, but for the price its still a very good pen, and it looks the part. Good condition 'original' 51's are now hard to find and very expensive. So if you want the 'look' without the heavy outlay, it does a fine job.

Fine Nib
Having purchased a fine nib to add to my collection, the pen did not write straight out of the box and the 18k nib needed adjustment to ensure a better ink flow. It now works well and compares favourably with the earlier released Jinhao. My1960s original 51 medium 14 K is by far the best.

I bought this fountain pen last year (the "deluxe", Fine gold nib version) and I am reviewing it now because I wanted to provide a real feedback that is not limited to a few strokes on a page. After writing with it for a year, I have to say that this is a very good fountain pen, writes beautifully, smooth, and is very reliable in the sense that the ink flow is constant and it doesn't dry up as fast as other fountain pens (it might be because of the hooded nib?). Initially I was worried about the metal cap wearing out the plastic threads on the barrel due to constant unscrewing of the cap, but so far that hasn't happened. The only thing I don't like is that the cap posts well on the barrel but not perfect, expect for it to drop sometimes. Otherwise this is a very good writing instrument which I expect to use many years from now on.

Per me vale 5 stelle.

My wife and I both love this pen. The Parker 51 writes exceptionally smooth. The pen is very comfortable to hold and to write with. The pen with the gold cap is very stylish. The pen is a bit on the light side and barrel is plastic and I think The entire pen could be a bit more premium constructed for the amount of money it costs. I still give this pen a 5-star review because it is the best writing pen I have in My pen collection and I am happy I bought it and I would by it again.
