Excellent book .. lots of information!

I have a small-ish scruffy garden with some raised beds, some pots, a medium semi-home made greenhouse and no talent as a gardener. BUT with plenty of enthusiasm and this book I feel confident to try. It has been written by someone who knows that a pick-up, put-down functional book is needed. Clear chapters, frank advice, lush recipes. I have previously bought the River Cottage Veg Patch and the RC Bread books, and they are all consistently brilliant. They have made a poor baker and gardener into a less poor baker and gardener, how's that!?

Generally very pleased with this book. It's a little bit more basic than I thought it would be, in that it doesn't cover as many herbs as I thought it would. However, I am very pleased with the information about the herbs included. From growing to storage and recipe suggestions too. Made my first horseradish sauce yesterday and it went down well. Happily recommend it.

Excellent info on growing and cooking with a vast array of herbs. Another great River Cottage handbook.

Definitely a good little book to have showed and listed herbs I’ve not heard of with a few ideas on how to use them as well

Bought for my mom for Christmas. This collection of books has plenty of information for all levels of foragers. Great to pass on some knowledge to kids/grandkids
