Been other using other brand coated strings which are great but these are a step up. Compromise free long life. Makes my mandolin sound twice as good! Had them on a couple months, battered them with daily heavy handed (hamfisted) practice and some rowdy outdoor gigs. They are almost like new. Recommended!

Value for the bit extra cost and brightness is a definite .Longevity ?! They've only been on the instrument a fortnight !Watch this space .

These have lasted very well taking over three months of constant hard playing to start losing volume and tone. I have been playing in loud acoustic sessions in pubs and other venues and these strings help my mandolin stand up to noisy accordions, banjos and guitars and general background noise. A step up from the dependable J74s.

Was looking forward to trying the dadario xs medium gauge mandolin strings however one of the e string snapped in the middle whilst winding on . Having changed the other strings I cannot return the set . I would like a replacement e string . I have contacted dadarrio in the hope that this will be resolved . Or that the supplier of this set will see review and provide replacement. Will update when I hear from either.Update ... prompt reply from Daddario who are sending replacements . Have updated to 4 stars as strings feel smooth and have great tone and sustain.
