Levi'sBoys' 511 Slim Fit Jeans

This review is for the Levi Boys 511 Slim Jean, specifically in the color Bacano, which is one of the darker washes available at the time of this review in 2016.I have purchased SEVEN pairs of these jeans. I'm short and I can fit into size 18 boys jeans, so I save a little bit of money purchasing the boys sizes. It's hard to find a dark rinse that I like, so I have bought multiples with my first order being placed March 16, 2014.The good: The rinse/color is terrific out of the package. The fit is a reasonable every day jean.. not skinny fit and not loose.The bad: this specific rinse sheds dye ALL OVER. My seat at work has a blue tinge to it and with a new pair I find myself washing my hands by the end of the day to get rid of the dye. In my opinion this rinse also fades quickly. I have taken to washing them every couple of weeks (I'm not a kid playing in the dirt) in order to keep them dark longer. Definitely should not expect to wash these with any light fabrics.Obviously as a 'con' this is not bad enough for me to stop purchasing them as I have gone through several pairs in the last 2.5 years. I did recently find a similar dark wash at Gap that I'm trying out to see if they fade less.The picture I have included shows the overall length can vary from order to order. I don't have a definite time frame but I would estimate the faded pair, which are the same Bacano rinse, to be 12+ months old. The dark pair is new and not washed.Size 18 is 29x29 on the tag, true to width and an overall length of approximately 40"The price for these jeans seems to fluctuate between $23 and $28 on Amazon, with a historical low of $18.43, and the lowest price in 2016 having been around $21. They are a solid value to have on hand for events where you want to wear (or have your child wear! ha!) decent looking dark colored jeans, just beware of the tendency to shed dye.. so don't go sitting on some expensive white sofa.

These are firstmost "skinny jeans". My already underweight son looks like a stick-figure in these. But that's okay, as long as he likes them (he's a pain about jeans). He wears a 12 slim and I was concerned these were only 12 Slim-Fit which in the world of kid's clothes can mean anything. But yes, it has an adjustable waist on each side so I was able to ratchet it to slimmer in the waist.The length is not overly generous with this growing boy. I doubt they will last through the school year (it's almost November now) as he's growing fast. But they will hold up well to pass on. I was mad at Levi's for awhile, it seemed like their denim got cheap. So I went to Lee's. But now we are back with this classic style.The denim is heavy but smooth and drapes well. Dark with no fade. Classic.

My Grandson loves these Jeans and looks forward to every Christmas when he gets a few pair. Great fit, stretchable and I advise buying

Our son is 11 years old, 4’10” and weighs 77lbs. He wore size 10 this year until it got too warm and I figured by the time the school year starts, those are going to be too small since he’s already having his growth spurt. I ended up going with size 12.It arrived, and I could not be happier with my purchase. It is stretchy and very comfortable. It’s got an adjustable waist which I currently have pulled to almost the very end so it’s not too loose around the waist for our son. It’s a tad bit too long but I think it’ll fit him just fine in 4 months when it’s jeans season. Or we can roll it up and it’ll still look stylish. I like the cut of the jeans and the placement of the back pockets as well.

My 11 year old loves the Levi 511 Skinny because they aren't too tight and have a lot of give. Problem is sizing! These are the fourth pair I purchased online which is risky with jeans. 2 of the 4 pair fit perfectly and both are 99% cotton/1% spandex. No matter what color or size you select, the description reads 99% cotton/1% spandex, which is not true. My son said the other 2 pairs are tight and uncomfortable--they are not stretch material and contain no spandex. They are stiff and rigid to the touch. The black 511s and highlife 511s are the 2 colors he loves and are soft and comfortable. I really wish the graphite 511s fit well because they are a great color alternative to dark or black denim. They actually have a slight corduroy look and feel to them, which I didn't expect. Another difference with the sizing is length. The jeans without spandex are shorter. At first, I bought 16 regular. The highlife fit perfectly lengthwise, but the other 16 regular are actually too short. I then ordered 18 regular to be safe and it worked out. Overall, if the description was accurate, buying the right size would be much easier. My son really likes these jeans, so I'll try to find description on Levi's official site, but purchase on Amazon. You'd be hard pressed to find them cheaper anywhere else.

These are a great value for the money. I'm 5'8" 130lb and the size 20 fits me perfectly. The tag says 30x32, which is what I was hoping for, but I couldn't find any conversion charts that showed the measurements for each size. Thankfully the size 20 I ordered was exactly what I wanted. The black color is nice and rich and the tag is also black. The material is soft and has the right amount of stretch, and there's a bit of elastic in the waist to make it more flexible.

My 13-year-old son is 5’8”, and maybe 105 pounds? Tall and thin, which makes finding jeans difficult. If we get them long enough for them, they’re too big in the waist. We ordered this for him in a size 20. The length is great! I’m guessing the inseam is about 30 inches, because our younger son, who’s the same pants size but bigger in the waist, wears the men’s 29/30 jeans, and they’re about the same length. We got the slim fit in these jeans. He still has to wear a belt so they won’t fall off his little waist, but they look fine on him. Washed ok so far. Good buy!
