IC3 Connector which is compatible with EC3 connectors.

Q: Will an AR620 receiver work withnthis model?

Yes, definitely. That's what I use in mine. It will not have SAFE mode however as other receivers might. In my book that's not a problem.

Q: Can you use any transmitter and receiver? Smaller Timber says you cannot and is not avialable without their receiver. This one is available without.

Yes you can. The whole point of a PNP version. Elite pushes the BNF versions in order to sell their SAFE/AS3X receiver but any airplane can be set up with another Rx/Tx combo with no problems. I don't like the RX that comes in the BNF versions. Too hard to set up properly and takes time to initialize every time you power up. I have used a Spectrum TX, DX9, for a long time and use Lemon Rx's and Admiral Rx's from Motion RC (which are basically the same thing as Lemons) with absolutely no problems. I don't use the auto level feature anymore as I find it unnecessary and can get another channel out of the Rx's. I use the stabilizer function, either always on or switchable on off, and have stable, reliable aircraft that I fly with no problems. This is what I have set up in my Timber X and all my airplanes. In fact, I had an older Elite Apprentice BNF version which I eventually put in a Lemon Rx after yanking out the Rx that Elite had put in it and it flew just fine.
