Q: Will this fit 2 mm seed beads?

No, I don't think so. We use them for the UV beads and pony beads. I think what you're describing is just too small.

Q: Will this fit for a 4 mm bead? And is it more durable than the regular elastic beading string?

I’m sorry but I honestly don’t know. We had only used string that was more like stretchy fishing line before using this kind. We made lots of bracelets that have seemed very sturdy.

I am not sure about the diameter of seed beads. I used this cord to restring a stretchy bracelet. The holes were slight bigger than the cord, and this cord worked perfectly without a needle. The manufacturer's description says 1 mm. So I don't know if that helps or not. Looking at the cord, it seems to me that it would NOT fit very small seed beads. The cord is unlikely to be able to be threaded into a needle or a beading needle.
