Some errors but a wide range of questions
This book is Hobson’s choice for advanced verbal reasoning.Positives:• It gives a taster of many different types of test and provides a healthy menu of verbal reasons questions. And I’m glad I bought the book because of it.Negatives:• There are a few errors – just enough that I lost some confidence in the book. It’s not self-published, so why didn’t the professional editor at Kogan Page check all the answers? For example, in the Find the New Word section, it missed the word “gin” – which is undoubtedly in the Oxford English Dictionary!• The author’s sole credential appears to be that he’s written a lot of books about psychometric tests (his education and relevant professional background are a mystery).• This book is short on tips. One chapter’s advice was: you need to be widely read and confident with your vocabulary. Gee, thanks!Despite the negatives, I found no alternative that covers verbal reasoning at an advanced level. And the practice questions were useful; the book was (just about) worth buying.

Great
I brought this book to help me pass the skills test required for teacher training, even though the book isn't suggested for this purpose it helped me a lot and I passed. I wanted it mainly for the comprehension and it was great. It makes you really think about the answers. It gives answers and explanations which was really helpful.

Very good book with around 200 questions of
Very good book with around 200 questions of...from the passage, definitely true / false / cannot tell. It is a little annoying on kindle as to check the answers you have to go into menu then press loads of buttons, only takes about 40 seconds mind you. As a hard copy this book would be brilliant.
