The info that is given in this book is good but incomplete. “Here are (X) amount of steps to achieve (this) in your church, but more detailed information can be found on our website/course. “That course is extremely pricey. The book is an advertisement although it does offer some good feedback from his travels and feedback from Christians all over the USA.

I'm going to make sure that every key leader in our church has the opportunity to read this! Not only is it a follow-up strategy, but also has a lot to say about first impressions on your campus.

When I came onto staff at our church in September of 2018, we had a new pastor (we were the only staff) and the previous staff had no guest follow up or outreach plan. We did ministry, but without a plan or strategy. My background is in education; so, I knew how to connect with people and knew the value of developing a relationship with those you serve. However, I had no idea how to do that with the people in our congregation and especially not those visiting us without me sitting and writing a bazillion texts each week.Insert Tyler Smith. I discovered him in my Google search, listened to a webinar, and have been a loyal follower since then through his Text in Church program. I have read most of his articles in their database, but I love having it in book form.This book is… foundational for those that need a paradigm shift in actually creating a follow up plan for guests.… guiding to those that want to know how to actually follow up with guests (how many times, in which formats, examples of what to say, how to advertise the guest connection).… descriptive in what is needed for effective guest retention (hint, it's more than just a follow up program and he goes over everything).… like a workbook, in the sense that there are questions built in at the end of every chapter, with room to write. So, you can read the whole thing in a short amount of time and then go back and ponder on the chapters with strategies you need to implement (this is what I did).… packed … it has examples of what to say, follow up plans, and you can text the number in the book to see how it all works (and get more resources).… a bridge to understanding how his product can work for you. He gives you the framework and everything to do it on your own, but he does mention how his product can make you more effective and save you time. I love his product, but I think it's important for people to know that you get everything you need from the book, but he does mention his product (which is SO worth the investment), which does what he says it does.I have loved this program because they are trying to equip us with the why, the how, and the what. They don't leave you hanging and are so generous with their resources. Even though I have been working with their program and strategies for two years, I loved having it all in one book that I can access more easily than PDFs or resource pages on a database.
