This part kit was a great solution for a completely chewed up gear set. Hard to beat fixing a nearly 20 year old garage door opener for under $20 and under an hour.I would note that the vertical shaft is designed to have a bit of play in the mounting plate, though it is very stiff. You will want to engage all screws simultaneously to work the plate into place or use a c-clamp to fit it down. The motor shaft collar assembly may benefit by a clamp with a socket over the motor shaft as well to get the right preload. And, of course, you’ll prolly want to take pix as you unplug the motor/capacitor and disassemble the old gear set so you’ll know which parts you need and in which order.

A little hard to install, but works great.

Called a garage door company in to repair our door. They instead wanted us to buy a new one and have them put it in for wayyyy too much money. Guy does side jobs and reccommended we just buy the part and he would put it on for less than $100. See to fix ourselves did not work. Our eyes are not up to par and it's cold outside. Well worth the price of $15 for the part. Saved us over a grand. It's only been a few days so I don't know how long it will last but if we have to buy again every year for 15 years we will still be saving money.

Not quite the quality as the factory unit. The steel shaft and sprocket are cheap, stamped, zinc coated parts. Feels very oriental to say the least. But the gears do work, and everything fit precise. The kit really is well put together, and has everything you need. I saved the factory shaft and sprocket just in case the new one gives out quickly, and I also opted to use some of the old washers as they feel superb in quality in comparing with the original. Also, the sprocket bearing is for sure not going to last. But I would still definitely, and most certainly be purchasing again when it goes out again. The price just works.

Very good quality kit. I have never heard my garage opener be this quiet since it was new. I didn't use the locking collar/spring washer/shim because they interfered with my position sensor. I used the original parts that were still in good shape.

I have an older garage door and of course the door somehow got locked and the tenant of the property decided to open the door and the plastic gears got stripped and the door would not operate. Instead of a new garage door I purchaed this replacement kit and did the install myself. Took about an hour and a half, mostly to adjust the chain not the gear kit instal. Was easy to install. Just havee the the proper tools. Dont loose the screws. Lube well.

A great price, but when you’re actually installing it, it fell short really quick.The main gear drive that failed in my opener, why I bought this kit, has three securing screws that go into the main chassis. The holes on the main gear are supposed to be threaded, they were not. This could be a complete project stopper for some. Luckily I had a tap set on hand, to create the required threads.Then we get into the gear setup as attached to the motor. Nothing as pictured in the instructions matched and there are parts listed in the wrong orientation. Good ole YouTube solved this for me and shout out to “diy toona,” for the save with the exact steps needed to get it going.I ended up with quite a bit of extra parts, really bad instructions, and incomplete manufacturing. Luckily I had the resources to fix it all, but it definitely doubled the install time.
