Variety Pack of 10, 3/4" Lumber Boards/Ideal Cutting Board Blocks 3/4" x 2" x 16"

Wood is beautiful, not problems. Going to make cutting boards an it is perfect for that.

This is a really nice selection of exotic woods. All 10 pieces of wood are 16"×2"×3/4", and surfaced 4 sides. The boards are very straight, smooth and free of defects. The boards glue up with no extra cutting or sanding required, unless you want your project to be super smooth. One trick to bring out deeper color in the woods is to rub each piece with Acetone, and then put them in the sun for a few hours. This really works to oxidize the wood, and turn the Purple Heart Wood from light grayish purple to very deep purple. I will definitely be purchasing more of this wood for future projects, and also highly recommended it to other wood workers.

This is my first time ordering exotic wood so I didn't know what to expect. Each piece is beautiful in its own way. I'm making cutting boards. I was waiting to use the purple heart and padauk at a later time. That time arrived then I noticed the purple heart had a sizable crack on one end and could not be used for the 2 inch width. Can't use it for strips either after I cut the 2 inches off the length. The Padauk has several bore holes in one board. No one wants bore holes in their cutting boards.I will buy them one more time if I don't find another site first. The quality of the other eight boards was very good.

The color on these boards was very good. I was worried about ordering online without picking out individual boards, but this was a great "set" to get started with on making some cutting boards. I did need to cut/plane some to get the exactly same width, but the thickness seemed to be very consistent (3/4 in) which made the process easier and I got to minimize the planing and sanding.
